What you said is true if you are racing. I'm talking about running group events where you are following each other, running in a pack, like any of the Raptor events that take place across the country. Day or night, I do not want to be behind someone running S2 Pro's with a combo or spot lens...
If you do or plan on doing any group off-road events, especially ones that run at night, stay away from the Driving/Combo lens. That spot light lens will blind the driver of truck behind you.
I recommend the S2 Sports (Pro's are overkill as a chase light) with the work/scene lens in all three...
Check your air filter. He's right, these trucks suck in a ton of crap when off road. If it was just you, it may be ok. But if you were following anyone and sucking in their dust, you should change your air filter. I always change mine after Raptor group runs before even driving home. These...
Given what dealer said needs to be done to fix it; that's too much damage! Don't walk away, run! I wouldn't touch this truck even at a huge discount. It'll always be a repair job, no matter how good the repair is. Nobody works hard and saves money and waits that long to buy a repair job. As...
My truck spent last night at the dealer. They had to order a part... any guesses? Wait for it.... IWE issue. I asked for more details & will share when I get them. They are putting it back together right now.
My money is on my right front IWE. I was getting some crazy popping sounds from...
Truck is still at the dealership. No updates yet. I imagine they did/are doing the service and tire rotation first & will then dive into the 4WD issues.
I'm going to let the dealer play with it first since it's under warranty. I've got a great relationship with them, and they know I don't just want it fixed, I want to know what it was and how it was fixed, so if needed & possible, I can address it on a run should it happen again or come up with...
I was the first one of three on this run to have this happen. Mine was immediate, but not in a water crossing. It happened when trying to switch from 2WD to 4WD while moving. CEL Wrench icon and Service 4x4 Soon came upon the dash, then all drive modes were no longer available via the dial...
Just back from lunch, and looked at my auto update after reading your post. It was off. And I know it 'was' on. Just last Friday I double checked all my settings, auto update was on, and I had a schedule set for updates too. So I toggled it back on and it stayed on. Then just for grins, I...
Those bracket he has appear to be from SDHQ. The visible bolt is the give-away as theirs is a 2 piece bracket. The lights appear to be the BD LP's. Nice set-up!
I have the BD XL 80 A-pillar lights and love them. What I didn't love was their bracket. I ended up with the SPV Heavy Duty...
@jm77 Thanks for the pictures. I think I'm going to mount my mic on the center console. My mic is smaller than yours (it's just a mic, no buttons or screen) and I think that angled plastic piece, just above where you have yours mounted on the console is my preferred spot. Can you tell me...
Funny you say that. I was sitting in my truck last night thinking about mic placement. If I'm driving and need to take my right hand off the wheel to grab a mic while keeping my eyes on the road, where would that mic be? I pretty quickly arrived at the location between my right leg and the...
Thank you @Nex I'll have to check that location out for my truck. With my radio in the console on the passenger side, that may give my mic wire a funky stretched out path. Thanks again for the picture.
That's the same magnetic mount I have. @Nex - Do you have picture of your set up? Struggling to picture this. Same for you @jm77 - I'd love to see a picture of yours too. I thought the CB mic lanyard was a great idea until it started flying around my cab like a projectile looking for a target.
My friend runs the ICOM with the face plate on his dash and loves it. I almost went that route. But instead, after many nights (beers) sitting in my truck thinking about where and how I wanted things set up, I ended up with a Kenwood from PCI. For the events that I do, I put the radio on one...
