OK I was removing the trim piece above the mirror and trying to tap the grey plug. I think there's some confusion on my part because there's also a plug on the back of the mirror, I will try that! Thank you.

The plug has both green and blue, and right next to one another. Was trying to find this info via Google search and came up with the green as ground somewhere. It's too dark to mess with it now, I'll try again tomorrow.

I think, for whatever reason, I had it mind to use green for ground. I'll try the blue wire tomorrow and report back.
