I can help you with this since I have a formula for a real oil additive that is not just a conditioner, but an additive formulated for turbo vehicles (race cars). My first question would be how many miles do you have on your Raptor and why is he wanting to run an additive. The additives on the...
I know how those LA roads are. My family still lives in Southwest LA. Some of those backroads and sections of I-10 will cause you to need your eyes realigned if you don't have a good suspension.
When I got rid of my 2018 Raptor I went with a F250 Platinum. I would have gone with a F350 but got a hell of a deal on my 250. Reason I made the swap was that the Raptor couldn't pull my equipment 28ft trailer like the 250 can. I started to have issues with the engine going into limp mode for...
That is odd that it would go into limp mode if you have it disabled on the dash. My 2018 had issues with the collision detection so I disabled it as you have, but never had it go into limp mode. Might want to bring it to the dealership to have it checked. Sounds like it may be something else...
I did that after I already treated my coolant. South and West Texas summers were killing my coolant. Even with the treated coolant and the 170 T-stat I still ran about 180-190 in the summer.
That is where the idea came from. We use it in our race cars, our crew chief is the one that suggested I run it in my truck. Great product, decreased my coolant temps by about 15-20 deg. in the hotter months.
Since you are in a pretty warm climate have you looked into adding a coolant additive that helps dissipate the heat better. I know I did this on my white Raptor and it made a little difference. not a huge effect but noticeable. Also changed out my coolant tank since my stock one started to show...
If you were just driving average (speed limit, no real load on the turbo) you should have no issue with just shutting the engine off without a cool down period. I have seen this (glowing turbos) on my first Raptor that I had heavily modified, most of the time it was after pulling a trailer and...
I wanted to go with 20's but was advised to go with 22's since I will be doing a full brake kit soon. The 20's would have been a tight fit I was told. The only thing I wanted to make sure of is that I did NOT want those ridiculous offset wheels where it looks like the hubs are about to snap. I...
The air suspension allows me to have larger tires. Offroad I raise the truck up to clear crap on the lease roads and not bottom out in pot holes. The trailer I haul long distance is for a tractor and equipment. I have a different suspension setting for highway hauling, lowers the truck so the...
I went from a 2018 Raptor to a 2020 F250. My main reason for the switch is that I spend a lot of time on both the highway and off-road on oil lease roads. I also tow a 30ft trailer and haul heavy loads with it. The Raptor was great driving but couldn't haul like I needed. I also have upgraded...
I traded in my Raptor earlier this year for a F250 since I haul my trailers a lot and needed the extra bed space. I prefer a diesel over a gas as well since all of our company trucks are diesel as well. Raptor is nice but wasn't able to tow like I needed. I would have kept it if it wasn't for...
You are correct. I pulled all my interior trim pieces and had them painted piano black. Also had each of parts ceramic coated so they wouldn't scratch or chip.
I never did any Raptor runs or Offroad playing. The truck took a beating running oil lease roads in West and South Texas. If you have ever seen or have been down one you know what I mean. By time I was done with the suspension I have changed almost ever part of the Fabtech lift and even added...
One big weak point on all those lifts are the shock cradle that links the shock to the LCA. I ended up bending one and breaking the bolt on the other. End up changing out all of that to custom length King coil overs to eliminate the cradle. Gave a much better ride and steering response after.
That is what I meant, if you don't plan on going off-road the lift would be ok. I used mine to run oilfield lease roads and started breaking things quick. Ended up having to replace almost every component.
