I remember Roman getting invited to a press release for the C7 before the car was launched and he couldn't break a 5 second 0-60 in a car that was reported to do it in 3.8. Blamed it on external factors. I also recall him acting like the TRX was quicker than a new GT500 some poor soul let them...
What?? Are you trying to tell me that the truck should be judged based on what it was designed for??? Are you out of your mind?
All jokes aside - ridiculous how many ppl think the raptor was meant to fill the lightning's shoes. Whenever I see ppl drone on about acceleration on the truck it just...
I remember seeing an AutoVlog video years ago where he put all the fake raptor stuff on his 150 to make it look like a raptor. You know, the FOOD/DOOD grill, fenders and all. The comment section was absolutely hilarious on that one.
It's probably why he only has 130k or so subs. He's not exactly a big fish by youtube standards. He also made a video a little while back about how he was able to buy the raptor on the cheap. Cited making good trade in deals... In other news - water is wet.
Mark me down for also not being thrilled with the carbon fiber package. With that being said, I still prefer it to the interior without it on a 35 truck. The 37 interior seems just as nice. I am also a bit disappointed that the 35 interior's center console doesn't have the word Raptor...
Brand new suspension which is an improvement all the way around, "drives the same". Almost a half second quicker to 60 per their results, "drives the same". They should just name these articles - No V8 so the TRX is better, since that's all they seem to be able to effectively report on.
So it rained heavily overnight on thanksgiving but I've also noticed this while washing the truck. Does anyone else's front-right cowl under the windshield wiper fail to drain? Water pools/collects in this spot for me and doesn't drain at all. Frankly, I don't even see how it would drain or see...
For whatever reason photos of the Gen3 do not do it justice. I preferred the looks of the Gen2 till I saw my Gen3 in person. Haven't looked at a Gen2 since.
2000 miles on my truck so far - had the same carplay issue that you mentioned above once before. Had to re-select it from the phone selection screen and it allowed me to reconnect. When I first got the truck it was still warm out and I had the sunroof open and the phone on the charging pad. The...
I agree - what's so frustrating is the power wouldn't even need to change. The HO3.5 feels great to drive. Just ppl knowing there's a v8 would make them relax.
I've got absolutely no complaints about this truck other than not having phone controls on the steering wheel. I know that's nit picking but after having it on my 18 I can't help but wonder why they got rid of it for 21+
Interesting review - first I've heard of anyone claiming the TRX is more composed than the Raptor. Also have to love dinging the raptor for fuel economy but praising the TRX on every other possible avenue. One thing is for certain, both of these trucks are amazing.
Nice Lumpy! That seems like a good deal considering the issues you've ran into - assuming you get to hang onto your truck till the 22 is delivered, hopefully?
Knock on wood - short of a retainer clip being loose on a couple items the truck has been solid. The fit and finish is much better on this truck than my 2018. Go figure.
I see most owners that are doing/considering this are also doing the 1.5" RPG collars. Serious question - How necessary is this step if you don't plan to do anything too crazy in the truck? Was planning on a few visits to Rausch and would rather not rip my fenders off if they're at risk.
It's 100% worth the wait... for those of you thinking about bailing, please do yourselves a favor and don't unless you absolutely have to. These trucks are awesome and will put a smile on your face every time you see them.
