Does the noise happen in only Drive and Reverse, but not Neutral and Park? There's a similar thread https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/tapping-sound.65140/page-3 that sounds pretty similar to what you're experiencing. Since replacing your Passenger Turbo has the dealer provided any remedy?
Man, aint this the truth?
In my previous F150, nobody messed with me. Murdered out with 1% tint all around and people treated me like royalty. But in my wifes explorer? People cutting me off all the time, riding my ***, and flipping the bird.
The forscan route provides more permanent results and the battery disconnect is more temporary in your experience? The transmission reverts unless using the forscan tool to clear the tables?
Got it. So you're clearing the adaptive learning table and "Breaking the transmission in" again.
I'm curious if disconnecting the battery for 20+ minutes does exactly this? I ordered my forscan tool but I think it couldn't hurt to try the battery disconnect, right? If I were to reset it via...
Thanks for the info. When you clear the adaptive learning are does your transmission enter the break in state or does it essentially reset it and turn off the adaptive learning altogether?
I just added fog lights to my 2017, and I hate that they didn't come factory, but the 3 light combo looks much better than the two lights on the gen 3. I prefer the non bezel look as well.
Sorry to revive a dead thread, but does clearing the tables fix the issue completely, or do you need to clear the tables periodically? I'm experiencing exactly your symptoms of a very hard downshift that jerks the cab when shifting down from 4th to 3rd.
My wifes skis and my snowboard fit in the bed of my gen 2 without having to angle them diagonally. My Snowboard is 160~ CM, and my wifes skis are probably about that length. The gen 2 bed is likely the same size as the gen 3 (5.5 ft) or 66 inches ( 167 CM).
I've been considering an extended warranty as well. I just bought a 2017 with 70k odd miles. I'm considering a ESP from Zeigler Ford, they're the only option I've found that's willing to sell an extended powertrain warranty based on my mileage. They will only insure you via the warranty...
New Mexican born and raised but moved to CO a few years back. Welcome to the forum. As far as 4x4 shops, I'm not sure anymore. I know Motiva Performance was pretty good but they closed down.
2nd this
Just sold my 2015 f150 for 8k over what any dealer would trade it in for. Had it posted on facebook and craigslist, any time someone tried to lowball me i'd just ignore it.
Would this failure have been covered by a Ford backed ESP like Zeigler?
If this isn't exactly what you buy an extended warranty for then I don't know what is.
You can see this hose from the passenger wheel well if you're willing to get your head in there. Alternatively, there may be a puddle on your skid plate like there was on mine, which would also be viewable without a lift. GL!
Took my skid plate off and noticed some dried up fluid pooled at the rear passenger side of the skid plate, looked up at it looks to be coming from the clamp on the lower radiator hose. I assume it's coolant. Trucks a 2017, any ideas?
Truck doesn't run hot at all either, multiple 200-300 mile...
I don't think OP had to juggle payments around, it sounds like he wanted to. Good chance he's getting between 0-2.5% interest on a new vehicle anyways.
And to the OP, your raptor is gorgeous, don't give her up yet.
I had my previous F150 serviced at the chapel hills service center (oil changes, tire rotations, etc), but I was hesitant to let them work on the raptor. Do you trust them? I need to get a few of the recalls done and need to find the most competent dealer.
