Im in the same boat. Looking to get another raptor but the 24's coming having me holding out. Paying ADM for a 23 truck with less options than a 22 seems silly. Unless I find a 37 at MSRP, Im holding out.
Oh come on. This is a hook up! You helped me out. Now Im saving you the hassle of dealing with the faulty flux capacitor! Thats a big item to fix ya know. Money dont grow on trees here. Even if they did. I would smoke them to forget where I am and feel like I was on vacation!
Thats just it. I went to the two local ones and both shops didnt even know 2018 was different than prior years. Both shops didnt want to touch it unless I was replacing the whole system. And one of them said that fix, or whatever JL came out with, doesnt always work. And Ive seen some posts here...
Thanks for all the help DH and Smurf. I returned everything and went back to stock. This is just too much of a PITA. God I hate this truck.
Everything about this dam truck is a PITA.
Anyways, you two are both WAY cool and I sincerely thank you both and the community.
But Ford and this...
I was under the impression the factory amp was 1 ohm stable. If thats not the case I’ll try my own amp next. That will run 1 or 4ohm.
I was told the stock sub was 2ohm dvc so I assumed it was a direct match?
I guess I was wrong/misinformed???
I simply put the dvc 2 ohm 8” pioneer woofer in the stock enclosure. Wired exactly how it was. While I wasn’t expecting it to be louder without an amp. I expected it to equal stock.
I didn’t even get to trying it with an amp yet. Something not right.
I give up.
The kicker hideeaway wasn’t much of an improvement.
I then got the pioneer 8” dual 2ohm 600w to try in the stock enclosure and that clipped at 1/2-3/4 volume off the stock amp.
Nothing sounds right. I’ve put subs in every car I’ve owned without issue.
I buy my first Ford and...
Pioneer was a bust too. God damn. I can’t get anything to sound right. It worked. But higher volume instantly clips the woofer.
Back to stock and over it.
I have sir. I did Polyfill first and that made a huge difference. Then I added some dynamat to the outside of the box.
I am totally ok removing the stock sub enclosure if a 10" box would fit without cutting! = )
I just wish I could find something to throw one of my 12"s in, but I know that's...
Im looking for a 10 or 12" box that will fit behind the rear seat WITHOUT cutting the carpet.
We camp and explore a lot and my wife will not let me use the space under the seats or else I would do just that.
I tried the Kicker hideaway and that was really not much better than stock B&G sub...
I just tried the kicker hideaway. I actually think the stock B&G sub sounds better. Mine is going right back to best buy. Its not worth it. You get some control over the sub. It sounds deeper. But its not any louder and I think the stock enclosure rolls the bass much better.
Meh. The kicker hideaway is no better than the stock sub! LMAO.
It’s literally the same sound. It’s deeper but equally low volume.
It’s going back and I’ll just get a 10” truck box, use my own xd600:1 and be done.
For those with the bg system. The kicker hideaway is exactly the same output...
Thank you very much. I really do appreciate you taking the time to explain this to me. It was most helpful. That's exactly my thought process on how I was going to attack this. The dual plug idea is what I was going to do. And yes sir, I noticed the DVC lines. Works out perfectly for both L and...
Thank you for confirming this. I was on another thread asking about this too. They said the same thing. My plan is to either add a kicker shallow mount to the stock B&G enclosure and have it powered off a small JL amp. Or I might put a underseat sub in there and just remove the stock sub all...
I’m trying to do the same thing. I have a shallow 8” woofer I want to try with an amp to it. I also have a 12” w6 I can try too.
It’s my wife’s daily so we might just stick a better 8” woofer in the stock sub enclosure and amp it. The W6 will be too much. LOL.
I’m going to disconnect the sub s...
I’ve never done it that way before. Interesting.
If I’m simply replacing the stock sub and box with another more powerful sub, is the sub outputs (i see them on green connector) the best solution?
I keep seeing reference to pull from the b pillars rear speaker which seems odd considering I...
I’m confused.
Can I take the harness going INTO the B&G amp and tap into the rear sub wires to an LC2i and from there into an amp which will power a sub?
I want to cut those wires going into the amp to feed a separate amp for a separate sub.
I’m just confused as to where to grab the signal...
Hey all,
I have a 2018 with the B&G sound system. Id like to add a AMP to power a sub. But Im not sure what line to pick my input signals from.
Most of the AMP install stuff is for the 2017's. Most threads I read say to pull from the rear speaker lines in the B pillars. Some have mentioned to...
