I have advanced fiberglass +2 fenders up front, and still running 35” tires but have zero offset wheels. I like changing one thing at a time, so might do 37s next.
I can’t stand rubbing fenders, though. I rubbed both the front (plastic) and rear (metal) fender liners with stock suspension and 35s.
I picked up a 2020 in April and messed with the suspension so much since. It was hard to find objective reviews, so hope this helps someone. Feel free to hit me up with Qs.
Round 1: stock truck
On-road:
Wonderful soft suspension, loved the cush. Very quiet in cab.
Offroad: floats through...
Btw, of all the upgrades to my truck (deavers, shackles, king mid-travel kit), the trac bars are by far my favorite. I wasn’t satisfied with just the improvement going to deavers. The trac bars are fun on and off-road, and extremely noticeable. Turn traction control off on pavement and it’s a hoot.
This is silly. You don’t have to remove the svc traction bars for off-roading. That’s where they shine the most. Kills hop going uphill on loose surfaces, gives you predictable traction and lean.
I’m running full mid travel with 17” of stroke in the back and haven’t bound them up. Your truck...
I've got the svc trac bars. They installed them when they did the midtravel (bed cage & front). It works fantastic. There is a ton of grip now. I cycled the suspension when I got it home and couldn't find any binding issues. The rear now does ~18" of travel, so a stock truck would have zero...
Currently have a trifold tonneau cover and love that it keeps all the mess out on desert runs. Added benefit is it keeps junk from flying out when not properly secured.
Truck’s getting a bypass rack installed and will be running two spares mounted vertical.
I have this crazy idea of cutting...
I was able to keep mine with zero offset methods by trimming the “little box” on the inside bottom. Took 2 minutes with a dremel and a cutoff wheel. It would rub at full lock otherwise
Has anyone found a setup that actually improves front visibility for high speed through dust? I don’t do night runs. I mostly chase buddies through the desert, and would like to see em and the trail better. Can’t really tuck in super close at high speed. We all have amber chase lights and those...
Does anybody know the best way to mount an nmo antenna to a bed cover? The cover is ~1.5” thick and I can’t find a surface mount that would work. Ideally something that screws from top but passes the cable to the bed would be ideal.
After battling it out with Ford warranty on my gt350, I'm not ready to mess with the intercooler relocation of a frame cut bumper. Don't get me started on the Magnuson act.
Do any bolt on bumpers actually increase approach angle? Just going for more clearance and don't care about looks.
I did the same process as OP, but with cquartz. Love it so far. I just hit it with a power washer every couple of weeks and it looks perfect. Will see how long it lasts.
