Why not just add the same motion sensor to the exterior of your house? I have one screwed under the soffits above the garage. When tripped, it turns on the driveway lights, which is much nicer than your standard motion flood lights that everyone recognizes and no one bats at eye at anymore...
Thanks for the reply. I wound up applying the coating to pretty much every non-plastic or glass part of the truck. So fenders and bumpers got a coating too.

Mine did this after I installed the tonneau cover (MX4). I adjusted the cover to reduce the overlap until the tailgate would release without any manual pressure.
