It's called a Helmholtz Resonator. Basically an empty chamber that is designed to reduce resonance in tubes with air flow moving through them.
Our stock airboxes use the Helmholtz Resonator. It's why when you put on a different intake you start to hear that whistling noise.
My truck in "auto" mode always shifts into 6th right at 40mph and I've noticed I get noticeably better mileage in 6th at that speed. Most of the roads around me are 35-45mph speed limits so I just have always been in 6th and I get decent mileage. In fact, with my daily commute in Houston, which...
Any dealer will do the work because its warranty work and they still get paid by Ford to do it.
I would recommend either keeping perfect records of maintenance or just getting maintenance done at one dealership if you do get your service done from a dealer. Unfortunately dealers don't have a...
I have an appointment from 10:30-11ish. I probably won't make the 11:30 meeting but can make it to galveston most likely. Where are we going in Galveston so I know where to go so I can meet up with everybody?
I actually noticed this problem after putting mine together and used those hex nuts. Works great! I think I'm going to have to take it all apart though and readjust the rails. The back of the Roll-X doesn't sit perfectly flush against the tailgate and I'm thinking maybe the rails aren't sitting...
For people that have AutoZone's around them, you can go and rent those spring compressors that RPG used in the video from them. It's not too expensive and you get all your money back as long as you return them to the store within a week or something.
Yesterday on my way home from Baton Rouge I saw a white SCAB hauling two bikes in the bed. Had a custom license plate from Louisiana that said EXTINCT.
Just parked my Raptor at The Parking Spot and saw a black SCREW there with aftermarket front and rear bumpers and black wheels. Looked to have...
But this +1 would still be a better bet than say a -12 offset? Even though they are pushed out further than stock it's not so much that it will negatively affect the CVs...hopefully?
Anybody know if we can run +1 offset? or is 0 the most we can do? I know -12 is ill advised for 2012-2013 trucks, but haven't seen or heard anything about +1...
And I'm assuming ET is offset?
I'm looking at different wheels and I really like the Method NV's and also the Fuel Boost or Fuel Revolver wheels. I know for a fact the Method NV's will fit, but I'm not sure on the Fuel set of wheels.
Their specs are as follows and please let me know if this will work or not and why...
I honestly just want my headlights to have a wider throw. The narrow coverage they have stock seems ridiculous based on how big the vehicle is IMO. Whenever I take a sharp turn I'm always turning into a dark spot rather than a spot that is covered by the headlights.
I may be wrong, but isn't the Raptor already selling better than the Lightning ever did? It's doing great and it is driving more people in to Ford dealerships to look at them...just like the GT500 does for Ford. Hopefully they continue the produce the Raptor for many many years.
When I was leaving work today, I stopped in the parking lot and shifted to park to lean into the back seats to move some stuff to the floor so they wouldn't move around as much. When I stopped, I'm pretty sure I was all the way into Park, but maybe I wasn't all the way in because the truck made...
Why would they discontinue the Raptor? It is making Ford a truck-load of money. They would be stupid to discontinue it just because of a model year change. It will be similar to what they do with the Cobra/GT500. First year will just be the regular F150's like the XL, XLT, Lariat, and King...
Same here man. I don't even really want the cupholders (be nice but I'm fine without). I really just want the footwells in the front and then the back as well. Something similar to what the Ford Edge has. Although it doesn't need to change colors...but it would be nice for sure!
Saw a 2010-2011 Black SCrew yesterday on my way to work. Had the 2010-11 bedside graphics and wheels and a black tool box in the back. Saw him on I-45 headed south from The Woodlands around Rayford-Sawdust. Guy didn't even look over at me when I passed him.
Just had a coworker come up to me.
He says "Hey, is that your truck out there?"
Me: Yup
Him: Damn dude that's badass!
Me: :fuckyea:
Him: You know what would make it look better?
Me: *thinking* don't say it....
Him: If it were lifted!
Me: :gr_guns::favorites68::wtf::snoopfacepalm:
