I’ll kick this back to the top.
- @bubblehead93 - very nice work. but your bed doesn’t appear to be dovetailed. And exhaust is pretty much in stock location.
- @98rangerdave - nicely done. no more spare tire, right? bed mount?
anybody manage to retain spark tire under the bed? I’d like to...
Can I get some detail pics of how you all are running your exhaust?
I want to go straight back. In front of tire won't work. Cutting it short under bed won't work. I want a real rear exit exhaust. I'd like to be able to carry a spare underneath, but normally won't. The natural exhaust path...
My first Jeep was an '81 CJ-7. I took possession in 1996. That was still when Jeeps were a relative novelty with relatively poor reliability. So someone driving a Jeep (at the time YJs were not considered real Jeeps) shared a bond of wrenching and maintaining an odd beast. A Jeep was not a daily...
just please no. we can be friends without waving.
it's bad enough the high schools girls, and soccer moms waving at my wrangler (not me).
this is the corollary to the fact that my (track prepped) S197 seems to magically attract weird middle aged guys. go figure.
I'm also amused by the...
i did shorter blocks on mine.
theoretically should get less axle wrap, but can’t tell. i like to tell myself it does.
either way, looks great and handles much nicer than stock.
@OP - you dropped it 1.5”? so your shackles are 3” over stock?
my neighbor has one in his super low mileage super duty. I keep eyeballing it in case of emergency. if it comes down to it, I could yank it and mail it up to you...
checked the oil in my 130k truck.
3500 miles including an XC trip to Colorado averaging over 80mph.
pretty much zero oil consumption.
if the valve springs hold up, this sucker shows every sign of doing 200k.
at the end of the day, there is something to be said for a big, under stressed...
i agree with corona. stick with the dunes.
fire roads in central oregon are no fun.
there is nothing to see. no good trails. and no good coffee.
covid is everywhere. there are hippies protesting on every corner. we are overrun with californians. there is no snow on the mountains. the passes...
i worked at Warn for eight years. that doesn’t make me an expert. but i’ll share my experience.
i’ve been able to do plenty of pulls with actual inline load cells. the average recovery pull is just a couple thousand pounds. rarely more.
now this goes up considerably if you sink your F350 up...
I’m not saying you are out of bounds. Not saying you are not well within your rights. Not looking to change anyone’s mind.
I do say this with full resp3ct for your choices, and as a (former) LE with zero skin in the game except to be helpful:
“depending on the particular officer, this may or...
No. Schwab used to be amazing when the old man was calling the shots. Now they are just another corporate train wreck.

Let me get this straight...
You ripped your valve springs out, or tried... as PREVENTATIVE maintenance? No signs or symptoms of something amiss. Nothing weird happening?
THAT, dear sir, is impressive. Not something I'm going to start doing as a matter of normal course, but impressive...
i turn mine off.
but let’s be real. there are fogs and there are FOGS.
if you’re running true off-road lights even pointing them down is pretty harsh on oncoming. so i feel it’s generally polite to not use.
if you’re running something stock, sae approved, or low power let your better...

anyway, we're getting to it, and she...
