Anyone know the ratio for 'low'? (I'm sitting in the back of an RV rolling down I80 and can't check)
2:1 would put the highway rpm at around 4k, but running relaxed; trans would be happy also. MPG would not suffer all that much.

Boxer engines are proven smooth concepts (with the exception of the opposed twin; inherent twisting forces)
Problem is that you have to design the truck around it, you just can not simply drop a flat six in to an existing F150.
To all you V6 nitwits out there: Keep in mind that a V8 can be naturally balanced, a V6 can not.
Even using balance shafts a V6 will never run as harmonies as a V8 (it's that four cycle and opposing forces thing...)
It is a preset in bushing.
I wish one of our vendors would supply delrin (or similar) replacement bushings.
But no, everyone is only interested selling replacement LCA's
