In my experience, ethanol does indeed absorb moisture. We used to use it in the good ole days to rid your tank of water from condensation....every once in a great while. Condensation would occur in open vent fuel systems (think carburetor and older fuel tanks). Today, with fuel injection, when...
WOW! What a fun place to explore. My first thought when I saw the pic of that rather large rock plugging up the trail was "I wonder how far JMB had to back up before finding a place to turn around?".
The vicious hounds and wife are lovin' it. Good on you sir!
When I want to turn heads from the good ol' boys I drive my other "pickup". I put her together about 5 years ago and every time I take her out I am asked at least once if "can I take a picture of your truck?". Naw, the culture is alive and well. We just have a battle ahead of us that will be won...
Your correct, many things contribute to overall "jump quality". After riding dirtbikes for 40+ years. I understand the nuances but looking from a pure physics point of view one can get an overall impression. Take that last photo. Note what a nice gradual run out your heading for. If that was...
Thank you! ...what a hoot that would be. Does look like it used up all available travel in the front though. Sidewalls still have some room. I would guess that is about max for a Raptor without causing damage.
tink I mentioned ..elsewhere (don't remember) but I sure looks like the RA boys dialed in that jump ...well, ALOT by the time I came along. Out of 20ish trucks none nose dived like that off of the jump they had for us. (these are the worst of the bunch)
Ok, I did get to try the Ricaro's at Raptor Assault. ....I will keep my leather ones. Why? Those buggars are going to be a bitch to keep clean. They are noticeably harder. They are narrower. Nuff said.
OBTW.....a tid bit from Raptor Assault. Different modes effect the antilock brake strategy. We tested this in normal and baha modes .....very noticeable difference. My instructor said in baha mode the truck tries to pile dirt in front of the tires to help stop. What ever it was doing, baha mode...
Could be, find a gravel road and test it (less stress on everything). Look at the skid marks in the gravel. You should be able to tell both from the feel and the marks.
