Here’s the process:
Add 4.8L (5 qt) of transmission fluid is an initial fill enabling the engine to be started.
Fill the transmission to the transmission fluid level indicator area below the crosshatch mark allows the vehicle to be driven.
Drive the vehicle to allow the transmission fluid...
If it has an error message there will be associated DTCs; sounds like they may have cleared by the time the dealer checked.
The warranty end date is concrete, meaning any warranty claim submitted will automatically kick back. Your best avenue is to lean on the dealer that wrote it up as NPF...
As others have mentioned, I’d highly recommend getting ForScan. The software is free and the adapter is only $50 on Amazon. As a Master BMW tech, diagnose it just like you would any other driveability/engine performance issue using the available PIDs.
You can purchase a 72 hour subscription to...
That’s not likely your issue; all you’re doing is causing pin wear by repeatedly unplugging it and plugging it back in, potentially causing a separate issue.
Drive modes are controlled by the ATCM on the instrument panel. Without DTCs you’re just guessing, I would recommend getting ForScan and...
That issue is 99% the result of the dealer overfilling the transmission. They don’t get the transmission to the required temperature to check the fluid level and end up setting it way too high. When under a load, such as towing, the fluid aerates, causing overheating. It then overheats to the...
Another reason not to use commercial car washes.
All sunroofs use a wet seal, which is designed to bypass water into the drain channels. They are NOT designed to handle the high pressure water used in many commercial car washes; that results in excessive water bypassing the seal and...
There’s no spec due to the number of environmental factors that can affect the temperature delta.
As far as the TSB, the current one came out on May 23rd and applies to all 2021-2023 models. It’s a new calibration for the PCM and HVAC module to prevent evaporator freeze up. If yours is...
There are two different cams depending on whether the heads were remachined during remanufacturing:
OE Production heads
AL3Z-6250-F
AL3Z-6250-E
Remanufactured heads (FC3Z head part number prefix):
GU7Z-6250-A
GU7Z-6250-B
The cams are the same for all F-150s with the 6.2, Raptor included.
That’s concerning, because that’s the exact issue. The valve cover passages don’t allow proper PCV operation, causing excessive crankcase pressure, which leads to oil consumption.
Not sure what valve you’re referring to as EGR; these trucks didn’t get an EGR system until 2021.
Definitely a strange situation. As mentioned, a restricted air filter will result in turbocharger damage, which is what it sounds like has caused occurred.
What is the build date of your truck? Regarding the oil consumption, trucks built before 9-11-20 have a TSB for that issue which involves a...
Check to see if the previous owner/owners replaced the factory bypass valve with an aftermarket one. It’s located on the back side of the charge air cooler in the engine compartment. The aftermarket ones sometimes tear the diaphragm and leak.
No. That procedure requires two programmed keys.
You may want to look into the ForScan extended license, I believe that has the capability to program an additional key.
Likely the Bank 2 VCT solenoid 1 is sticking, resulting in oil being routed to the phaser at the incorrect time. I’d recommend replacing that solenoid and re-evaluate.
P2C90 sets when PCM detects the crankcase pressure sensor or crankcase ventilation hose is disconnected. Double check all of your connections; if it’s all connected properly you may want to call K&N to see if they’re aware of an issue.
No they didn’t. There was never such a program and there were never any pattern engine failures. In my years at dealers every single 3.5 engine failure was one of 2 root causes:
A. Run low on oil
B. Poorly maintained/extended oil change intervals
You’re a useless troll on your best day, you...
