The software update was a recall that was issued in July of 2021, the truck should have been brought into the dealer at that time to have the recall completed. The program expired in August of last year. The software is still available on the scan tool, the dealer can install it by updating the...
A Master Reset clears out the Sync CIP of all devices and settings. If you give a dealer a TSB number you’re automatically assuming it applies, which is many cases it may not. So the instead of following the process to check OASIS by your VIN and follow any applicable service messages, they may...
P05FF is Brake Pressure Sensor/Brake Pedal Position Sensor Correlation. It sets when the PCM detects a mismatch between the brake pressure switch (BPS) and the brake pedal position (BPP) switch.
When the brake pedal input is unreliable (DTC set), the PCM can enter a fail safe mode due to the...
The evaporator would be frozen over if it were blowing “high 20’s” out of any A/C unit. Obviously you are not getting accurate readings.
Tundra = prius.
Good question, I am not sure how far the coils compress on full upward travel. OP’s coil spring shows internal rust, which is a sign that the spring developed a crack before failing. It could be a defect, or possibly the protective coating was compromised.
To be completely transparent, I do not have any fluid analysis data to support any specific interval. I can only say the the published interval is 150k, and there is no transmission fluid interval listed within the “Special Operating Conditions” section. 75k-100k would probably be a reasonable...
The system will not function properly if the camera LIN configuration cannot be completed, which is common when an incorrect or aftermarket camera is installed.
The next steps should be to replace the rear camera with a Ford/Motorcraft part, complete the LIN initialization, and then...
Does the rear camera work properly? I would be surprised if it were the APIM; it receives the video feed from the Camera Switching Module over the same 2 wires. So regardless of which camera is on, the input to the APIM is the same.
New emissions regulations require that the CCV be tamper proof. So you have to use a utility knife to cut the lock tabs on the fittings so that they can removed. They cannot be reused once cut, so a new CCV tube needs to be installed.
You can’t just slap a S/C kit on a 5.0 and expect it to do what an R can. That kit is a serious compromise in the reliability and long term durability of the engine, which is why it only comes with a 3 year 36k warranty that is back-dated to the original vehicle sale date:
“This Performance...
It could be a coil or injector circuit issue, not necessarily a component failure. What DTCs are setting? CMP sensor will not cause a single cylinder misfire.
There hasn’t been anything published regarding this issue. I would be curious to know if any of the affected vehicles had the coils or shocks serviced at any point, such as by the dealer for a warranty issue or by the owner or shop to change/upgrade the shocks. The springs have a coating on them...
They just said that or did they actually diagnose it? These transmissions are fully serviceable, I would question why they can’t repair it as opposed to full replacement, which will be a reman unit anyway.
There have been issues with front brake upgrades causing DTCs to set in the EBB due to the additional fluid volume of the larger multi-piston calipers. I suspect they may be encountering the same issues with the rear, in addition to the electric parking brake challenges.
It could be a base engine performance issue; that will cause it to stay in lower gears due to the lack of power. I would start by with a visual inspection of the engine and harnesses and then pull DTCs.
