Most CarPlay issues are caused by the cord; if it is worn, damaged, or cheap aftermarket, it will not work consistently and will have functionality issues.
The majority of infotainment system concerns are device and/or app related. It’s best to do a Master Reset and update to the latest version...
Lemon law on the left coast is ridiculous. A “messed up shifter” and a T-case code are hardly reasons to brand a vehicle a “lemon”. And “blown up hub?” I didn’t know hubs were explosive
Assuming how OP was driving and that he had shock issues is also baseless. There is not a...
That is the MyKey feature. It allows a key to be programmed so it limits various parameters like audio volume, top speed, etc. It was available across most Ford vehicles and designed for young drivers. To erase the MyKey a master key is required, that is why they can’t disable it with the...
Exactly. People damage their trucks and then scream “lemon”. It takes a massive amount of force in a very specific location to bend a tie rod like that, it’s not a defect. Something had to absorb that impact, if it wasn’t the tie rods it would have destroyed the steering rack.
They’re good engines. Although valve spring failures aren’t common, they’re well documented, and they result in engine failure. Nothing is “bulletproof”.
Turbochargers don’t “go out”, period. They’re lubricated and cooled by oil and coolant, just like any other engine component. What engine are...
10.7:1 is extremely rich. Most likely you have a boost leak; not uncommon after charge air cooler modifications. Double check all of your connections, sometimes they’ll appear secure but will leak under pressure.
The first thing to know is that they are aftermarket packages, not factory built trucks. They come out of the factory as a Raptor, and are shipped to the upfitter to be modified before delivery to the dealer. So when you reference the VIN or window sticker, there is nothing about Roush.
This...
I always seem to ruffle a few feathers.
Toyota “reliability” is a farce, they need service and repair just like any other vehicle. The main difference is owners tend to excuse any and all problems because they claim it will “last forever” and it’s worth putting any amount of money into to keep...
P2098 is post catalyst fuel trim too lean Bank 2. That is much different than a pre-catalyst lean code, which is engine performance related. Which O2 sensor did you replace and what brand did you buy?
P2098 can be caused by a faulty O2 sensor (Bank 2 sensor 2), a contaminated upstream O2...
If a solenoid is outside of specification the VDM will set a corresponding DTC. It’s possible that the RR ride height sensor is experiencing an in-range type of failure, meaning the module often won’t set a DTC but the data it’s receiving is not accurate and therefore causing performance issues...
The service manager is wrong, which is not a surprise. They are typically non-technical people who work their way up in management by manipulating numbers, minimizing spending on shop supplies and equipment, and under paying the technicians.
The number of vehicles that have experienced the...
The shocks are controlled by the VDM; if there is an issue with any component or the calibration there will be associated DTCs. Is the truck stock?
Since you have ForScan, check to see if DTC B162F:13 is stored in the BCM-C. If so there is a Service Message (51160) to reprogram the BCM-C to...
The 5.2 Predator engine is available only in the Raptor R and GT500, nothing else. A basic 5.0 shares almost no parts with 5.2. The link you’re posting is a dealer installed kit from Roush, you lose your factory powertrain warranty coverage and Roush provides only a 3 year/36k warranty. The...
You’re going off on a tangent that is not supported by anything factual. Cool story on overpaying for an R, sounds like you really get off on that. The 3.5 HO GTDI is the best engine in the F-150 lineup sans the 5.2 R engine; the fact that you think a Gen 3 sounds like a “rice box” just shows...
What Nex said. That oil came from somewhere; the possibilities are engine oil cooler, transmission oil cooler, or a head gasket. Take a look at your transmission fluid.
If the oil cooler was leaking you won’t get all of the contamination out just by draining and refilling; the entire system needs to be flushed with Motorcraft VC-1.
There is no TSB for that. I’m guessing you bought it used? The only reason it will vent fluid is from being overfilled. Meaning it was previously serviced and the fluid level was not properly set to the correct level.
The database is called OASIS. It’s only available to dealers and paid subscribers. It’s not intended for consumers to use as a shopping list.
The 3-4 shift delay on cold start is normal. There is nothing to fix, it’s a characteristic of the transmission.
The turbo wastegates will exhibit a...
