I finally found the time to do the first detail of the new Raptor. After reading most of the detailing threads and seeing how much everyone liked the Adam's products, I went all-in and ordered just about everything, including a Cyclo polisher. I was never much into detailing before but this...
Bak should get rid of the cable pull and just have a t-handle knob in the middle that has to be turned 180 degrees to pull on the cables enough to retract the latches.
Thanks for showing us this huge fault. Glad I have been waiting to order one to get the XT model. However, if the new model has this same issue then I will not be ordering a Roll-X at all. No point if there is no security.
Did a full detail this weekend. First time using the Adam's stuff and it worked great! Just placed another order to get a few more towels and applicators, along with a MetroVac Sidekick. I dried for 45 minutes and still had drips jump out from under the trim when I was sealing.
How about an informal poll on who would be interested in embroidered leather covers for the visors. I am tired of looking at the stupid warning stickers. If enough people are intetested maybe your leather supplier could make a batch of them.
So I called that number and ended up with a third-party vendor that tells me that the Vehicle Security System does not have an infrared theft sensor, only a shock sensor. The guy was rude and tried to tell me that the shock sensor is what uses infrared but could not explain how that would be...
Calder shipped out my project today. It looks sweet! I can't wait to get them installed. And yes, I know a Raptor has three claws, those are wolf claws!
Are you trying to go through the side IP access panel? I tried that way but it was too tight. Drop the glove box, you don't need to remove the screws, just pull the sides in to clear the stops. Then you can reach in and peel back the top of the rubber cover.
The security LED is centered left to right:
But it is in the front 1/3 of the steering column shroud because there is something in the way underneath in the center position front-to-back.
Mark the front portion and then take the shroud off to make sure nothing is in the way...
Not quite. The prices listed on the website are for the parts. Right below the price, click on the "Get local pricing" and it will add the installation cost. For me, it was $47.50 for each module. Parts $600, install $95, first year service $50.

The cell service for the Remote Access costs $49.99 per year. You could add the Vehicle Security without the Remote Access and have no service fee but you would not get alerts on your phone.
I am assuming the dealer activated the RMU and you got the app on your phone and it does the same stuff as the keyfob?
To arm the system you have to use the lock button on the keyfob or your app (hitting the door button to lock will not set the alarm) and then wait 20 seconds for it to arm...
Helped the dealer tech with the installation of the FoMoCo Vehicle Security System and the Remote Access which allows the smartphone app to do everything the keyfob can do (unlock, lock, start, stop, find) but from unlimited range since it uses a cell phone signal to communicate. The Vehicle...
Got it. I was just swiveling the end fittings that have the connectors. I should have also been spinning the hoses where they attached to the JLT body. When I took it off I saw that the short hose already had a bend to it so I spun it 180 degrees and then spun the connector fitting around to...
Dealer told me today that order bank will close in about two weeks and that Dearborn is closing for MY2015 re-tooling in June. Take it for what it's worth as far as rumors go.
