When I was waiting for mine I kept track of a half dozen stock orders for dealers in our area and they were 3 to 6 weeks from build to delivery at the lot. I was lucky and it only took 3. It left the day after being built, then 2 weeks on the train, then 6 days to get unloaded and trucked to the...
I used the black foam pads for the sealant and wax. I used the red foam pads for the glaze. Since I did not do any paint correcting I did not use any microfiber pads. Adam's has microfiber cutting and finishing pads (orange and white) but no microfiber pads for sealants and wax.
Trying to figure out how to post larger resolution images. The original is 5760x3840 but it posts at 400x267 then if you click on the pic it will expand to 800x533. I have noticed in other threads that the pics are as large as 1024x768.
Can someone tell me how to post images at 1024x768?
The screw-on lids on the Adam's car wash buckets are very handy for taking hot water to the quarter wash but I found during the first use that just inside the rim of the lid there is a little groove that traps dirt and grit which makes it hard to rinse them out.
Here is a picture of the...
If you haven't ordered the Cylco yet, DO IT. It does save time, even for sealing and waxing. It is also easier to reach the back of the hood and the center of the roof. You can one-hand drive the Cyclo with just your fingers on the end of the handle. Also, you still remove by hand with the...
Drove it in the rain to see how the Adam's detailing products performed. Nice results. You can read about it here if you are interested.
I know, pics pics pics. I keep trying to upload one here but just getting "FATAL ERRORS" (read in voice of James Earl Jones).
I may have hit my...
No, not really. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten scratched yet. My last truck got a nice deep scratch at the airport when it was two weeks old. It is only a matter of time before one of the kids runs into it with a bike or scooter.
I'm not a hard-core off-roader so it won't get trail-striped...
Follow-up comments:
Got some rain today. The truck was dusty from driving it this week (I actually did the detail last weekend). Very nice beading on the paint.
The Glass Sealant is amazing. I was driving on the highway in a decent rainfall and didn't even have to use the wipers, the rain...
PS - Cleaning all the stuff is a pain. I tried to wash the applicators after each step rather than saving it all for the end. Do not leave applicators dirty overnight.
HELPFUL TIPS AND ADVICE FROM MR. OCD
Wear clean clothes and change your shirt if it gets dirty or wet during washing. You don’t want any dirt from your clothing falling into the polish or wax as it could cause damage to the paint. Do not wear rings, watches or other jewelry.
Work in a clean...
Here's some pics and comments on the process.
Unless you are a pro, watch the videos on the Adam's site before you do each step.
Having a rolling seat helps with the lower areas and I also added some padding to the handle of the stool so I don't scratch anything getting too close and it...
