    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

Um... I found a copy. Somewhere online. Likely pirated and by clicking sketchy links. Proceed at your own risk.

Wasn't easy, but I found it for you. Cam Caps: Phasers: Hope it helps. Good luck!

    That’s cool man. Do you.

    PD1744's Build

Tons of HF tools here. The guy that runs their media dept is a friend of the shop so just about any photo of a tool of theirs that you see in a shop was taken here. In exchange we get a bunch of free tools. If you look closely, you might recognize the truck on the Badland jack box. I do: The...

    PD1744's Build

Quick post/truck update. Been radio silent basically all year for several reasons. But life has been crazy and I've had zero time for truck stuff, off-roading, forums etc. all year. Is what it is. Last weekend I got to do a little something. Installed some Kibbetech billet upper control arms...

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

I get a good year I'd say. To be clear, I prefer the plastic trim wipe ON headlights over the headlight wipe. I'm not telling you to do that, but I've had better luck with it.

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

I like the stuff from Cerakote. Honestly I like their plastic trim wipes better than their headlight wipe. Easier to use and harder to mess up.

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

Thanks for adding to the thread. Yes ceramic definitely helps. I've got everything on both trucks coated in ceramic, but it will still require maintenance with time like everything.

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

Haven't circled back to this thread in a while. I think ultimately the issues were on the truck side more than the headlight side. New plugs, checking the wiring, and being more careful with the application of dielectric grease and I've had not issues regarding function in a long time. The new...

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

I had to look back for this one but according to post #116 I went with Melling here as well. I wouldn't have any issues running OEM though. For anything really.

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

Bahaha. Bruh, when/if I ever decide to tear into an automatic transmission I'm sure that will be a hell of an adventure. I've not had any time this year to wrench or get in the dirt with my now job, but I've gotten to do other cool truck stuff so I guess it evens out.

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

    I used Melling valve springs.

Thanks man. Check out Motorcraft KT65. Hope that helps. Good luck!

2013 bad engine, best reman option

I don't think there were any glaring weaknesses. The thing is stout. The cylinder that was lost had a small crack in it, so we sleeved it. Engine came out of my buddy's truck. He lost it after his first tune up, so he caught it quick. It bent the rod. Piston grenaded. So I guess that could be...

2013 bad engine, best reman option

My engine rebuild has actually been completed for a year new. It's just been sitting on the stand at my dads shop. Plenty of engine shops in that area as this is NASCAR country. I used Poteat's in Kannapolis. I'd use them again or Kannapolis Engine Services (who's also one of the Poteat boys)...

2011 Raptor with no fox shocks or Aux switches?!

At first glance it looks like a Frankenstein of a truck. But what I believe this is, is one of the Border Patrol spec trucks.

    PD1744's Build

I shoulda done the foam on the driver seat while I was in there. At this mileage, it certainly wouldn't be a bad idea. For now just about as far west as I can get.

    PD1744's Build

Forgot to mention that I needed to replace the passenger side seat heater element. Wife discovered it took a crap during that brutal cold spell that hit us all last month. Great timing. Job was not as fun as I remember. Then I replaced those 2 year old Mevotech ball joints with OEM a couple...

Then proceded to replace my little Kicker Hideaway 10" with a 12" Rockford Fosgate shallow mount P3 and Kicker CXA 400.1 amp. Box fits perfect under the seat as far as wanting to cram a 12 in there goes: Amp lives behind the seat: I'll eventually clean everything up but it's in there...

    PD1744's Build

Another quick update while I got a second. Back in early November took a trip with the TORR group and did a bit of the Trans-American Trail through parts of NC, TN, and GA. Needed a new windsheild after this run, which means I needed to have my winshield re-tinted. Ugh... My fault though...

FNG checking in from the Carolinas

Hey. Looks like the code I used was ‘F150FORUM’. Took $30 off of $237. That was over two years ago so not sure if it’ll still work for you. Hope that helps though.

    PD1744's Build

Few little things. Added some X-Track for some additional tie downs like for securing the cooler. Threw some poly-fill in the factory sub enclosure. Read about it somewhere. I was unsure about it but for the cost and effort of the mod I think it was pretty decent. And then added a...

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

Definitely a loaded question. I can say that I'm easily $3K into this thing. You start talking forged pistons, rods, billet oil pump (or gears) stuff starts to creep north quickly. One of our members sells titanium valve springs. Everyone's mileage is going to vary here, but I can see a rebuild...

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

Thanks! Yeah definitely go for it. It was a fun and satisfying project for sure and I learned a ton. I still haven't done anything with it, but I enjoy visiting the engine every now and then and it's definitely nice to have it as insurance. Yeah, slapping some paint or something on there still...

    PD1744's Build

Thanks man. Holding up well so far and definitely made a big difference to me. I just used whatever trim/bumper paint they had at my parts store which was Dupli-Color brand. My buddy used SEM brand stuff and it's really nice. If that was available, I probably would have gone that route. I used...
