I have seen two posts on one of the Raptor FB groups about the Ford Performance Calibration (tune).
Both have been very complimentary of the upgrade. One guy had a JB4 prior and likes the FP tune better. Mostly, for the transmission strategy upgrade.
I may do this calibration, as I was a huge...
After replacing the seven pin plug on the trailer, I still had the same problem. The battery would not charge. Ended up pulling the battery charger that was part of the breakaway kit. It was basically a three wire solid-state device with two positive leads and one that went to the breakaway...
Just figured it out. Damn 7 pin plug on the trailer side is bad.
I get 8.5 volts at the plug and I have 13.2 in the trailer. I thought it had something to do with the LED lighting, as it’s on the same circuit.
I finally checked resistance from inside the trailer to the plug connection. 6M...
Good point... But why when I unplug and replug the interior lights will work... every time. Just no charging of the battery. Plus, I can see the 12 volts on the trailer side on the trailer plug. I am going to look at the wiring this weekend. The trailer is at my cabin.
The Gen 2 version seemed a bit more secure. I’m sure you could make the new one the same with a toggle bolt or two. For me though, i figure if they have the truck, they will get in.
It’s not bad just not quite as secure as the last one imo.
My '23 has 11k miles on it and it appears I lost one or both valves. I emailed my dealer on Monday and they checked my VIN. Said there were codes for both valves and ordered them. I am taking it in this THursday and will update progress when the repair is complete.
Symptom was quiet mode...
Funny.... I got in the other day and started to play music. Thought there was a ticking noise coming from the front left corner of the cab. When I turned down the music it went away... it was the song! The imaging is so much better now and the bass has more punch as well. Liking my system more...
I have searched this site and the F150Gen14 site. Over there, there have been several discussions on this, but I can not find my solution.
When I plug in the 7 pin to my truck, and start my truck, I get a trailer battery not charging error on the screen. The trailer has brakes and this is the...
Im not suggesting towing overloaded... however... the regular F150 will tow 10,000+ pounds in similar configuration.
It's the springs that make the Raptor tow less. Bags will help and make sure your tongue weight is at least 10% if you decide to do this.
When I raced, I ran an aluminum 24ft ATC and all in with car and gear I was around around 7000#. Some manufacturers say not to use a WD hitch on an aluminum trailer... I ran one for 6 years and never had an issue.
I towed that trailer with a 2020 raptor (and even a 2020 Durango SRT). Towed it...
When Ford made the R, I’m betting they could have easily made it a couple HP more than the TRX. They didn’t.
They are focused on the total package.
I raced Miata’s a while ago. Not a lot of HP there, but man it would handle, and I could pass cars with double the HP.
It’s not about HP, it’s...
Ha, not a problem. Good friends with them. I upgraded again… went to 3” cubes. SAE fog and hyperspots in the outer bumper and a 10” SR Pro driving/spot in the lower center grill.
This is such a timely post... thank you. Was just thinking about an upgrade, but didn't want to go all in at first.
May do just the amp, and upgrade speakers later. Has to be better than factory.
I found out that there is a regional Ford engineer assigned to dealers (at least in my area). The engineer for my dealer happened to be there when I took my '21 in for the exhaust rattle. He agreed it was not normal. This helped to get me a new exhaust asap. The regional engineer reports to Ford...
I had the digital HVAC in my '21, and now not in my '23.... don't miss it at all. Took a min to get used to looking at the display, but imo, not worth the money. Glad to see you are getting what you want on the PPF.
The pro fog units I bought, were plug-in play, essentially. You open up the housing on each and pull the boards out. Then swap the pro board into the factory housing.
When I did the units on my 2021, I had to do some soldering, so I’m not sure which ones have plug-in play boards. It may have...
I don't think the gloss looks bad. I had my front bumper done on my Gen2 in gloss and liked it. To each their own.
I do the same... I know, to some a waste of money. But for me, piece of mind for big chips. That's just me.
