Doh! That’s funny. I totally took that the wrong way. Yep I picked up a dif skid plate but that’s an easy job. I’ll get that on when my truck is back home.
I tried the RCI skids first and the coverage wasn’t great. Krazy house was similar to Foutz... I ended up with Foutz because I...
So as part of finishing my build... I had installed Foutz skid plates and then I used RCI for the gas tank.
my truck is still in the shop. For those with foutz or Ford performance... how do you change the oil? Does that middle skid plate come off easily? Just want to know what to expect!
The raptor rightly deserves a lot of credit towards innovation. However, I think you can look back to Hummer and even Jeep, as predecessors to the idea that you can do it all on road and off road. Ford took it to the next level, but some of that has to do with watching what enthusiasts were...
I agree that my BMWs sound very favorable in comparison, but I don’t think it’s entirely relevant to compare a German luxury Brand to a Ford F-150. One of my BMWs even spritzes out high end cologne from the HVAC.
Little update to wet the whistle.
My build is in the final stages. I’ll possibly have some numbers by next week.
We know one member here with the state 4 turbos did 530 horsepower and about 500 torque on a 5th gear pull, in a bullet proof safe tune. That’s pretty good stuff.
Let’s see where...
Those turbos and manifolds are a big job.
to the tune of 2-3 full days of expert labor — not counting the tune.
E85 should be good for 650-700 horsepower.
Win, it’s not just the torque.... it’s that it comes on really abruptly. Some of that has to do with the forced induction and some of it as to do with the nature of the motor.
either way, you’re right.... it’s tough to get power to the ground unless you have a nice dry road.
You can go under the truck if you’re planning on doing a mega watt system requiring multiple cables, but like Apicella said... Judy run it through the firewall and under the door sills to the back.
Full disclosure.
I have a similar build going. It started end of October. I should have results in the next week.
stage 4 CR turbos
CR port matched exhaust manifolds
Kooks downpipes
AMS turbo adapters
AMS intake tubes
AFE CAI
Whipple Intercooler
Custom Dyno tune
I’m doing it with stock...
Pedal commander is an illusion. It just shortens the throw of your throttle. Like going with a quarter twist on your Motorcyle...
I can get you a pedal commander for free. Slam your foot to the floor and it’ll do the same thing.
Ok.
kooks green catted downpipes will also pass emissions and both should have o2 extenders to be safe.
Neither will give you any noticeable horsepower with stock turbos.
catback exhaust gives minuscule amounts of horsepower.
CAI gives no power either with stock turbos.
Turbo adapters will...
I ran the touring one for a long time. I’m chucking it in this current build.
you might be happier with a set of green catted downpipes and stock exhaust.
otherwise if you must pick one... do the touring.... it’s the loudest you’d want for a neighborhood.
Me too. I pulled it off pretty quick. I’m looking forward to going back. The catback, CAI and intercooler did make a little more than stock on the dyno on a stock tune. To the magnitude of about 20 RWHP.
