With drivetrain losses and such... probably similar. I’d guess I’m 650-675 Bhp.
they rate 667 on the new one.... I don’t know how much the heads are different and if they’d tolerate more air or more spark...
been looking at the independent testing.
MOPAR has a habit of underrating their horsepower. Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s not more than the 702.
multiple sources have quoted 4 seconds and less.... now granted it’s using launch control but it’s still as impressive as heck.... it’s running low...
The main point to this thread was to raise awareness... for those doing this mod... this is what you get... to some it might be worth it.
I have a new tune in the works and hopefully that’ll improve my inpression of things.
I’ll get the tune cleaned up a bit and that’ll help...
Nope. 35s. Toyos. Not significantly different though.... even the shop said it’s not the tires.... no way you’re making up the difference for the inflated numbers.
4K rollers too so it has proper loading on the dyno jet.
it is what it is. I’m not saying it won’t take a tuned raptor in a...
Not sure if Lars had manifolds or what other bolts on he did. Probably typical bolt ons is my guess but probably not manifolds. I don’t think he held back... he just was limited by knock.
maybe the heads pick you up a little something. Not sure if the flow will matter
With the knock.
Dillard,
This was Lars truck from Gearhead on 93, similar turbos. He hit the same wall. They have the upper RPM range cleaner than mine but it’s the same plot basically.
so I don’t know if there is any more torque to be had.
Just was hoping for more.
QUOTE="Raptor 2014, post: 1580466, member: 12350"]Pump gas is the limiting factor. Many, many people post / advertise unrealistic RWHP numbers. They they show a graph. The only problem is that no other variables are shown. Dyno numbers are very easily manipulatd...
Ethanol or meth injection would help a lot but the goal was to try to get competitive with a TRX on pump gas.
not possible.
like I said I do have another guy.... seems like a great guy.... experienced tuner... he’s going to work with me to try to get what we can get... I’ll update when I...
no.
1:1 is a 7th gear pull. Going to 4th or 3rd skews it even further.
7th gear is hard with the speed limiter and pulls tend to be done in 5th.
A 7th gear pull will yield a small amount more in the way of torque. Instead of 488... maybe around 500... I’d expect 570 on a 5th gear pull...
I wasn’t looking to swap. My goal was 550 horsepower and 575 torque.
Can’t even get close in the torque department and that’s the most disappointing of all.
Yeah...
It’s not like other twin turbo platforms that easily come alive with larger turbos and manifolds.
I’m going to fool around with it. I have a great guy who is going to see if he can tune it a little hotter... He has a lot of experience with eco boosts and these turbos...and just get...
Zombie said it best...
the mechanical limits are reached. That’s the point of sharing this. The dyno plots from five star and CRP are generous.
folks can decide if it’s worth it for themselves. You’ll pick up about 60 horsepower, mostly all upper RPM range and not much difference with...
It’s not even close to a stage 2. There is 30 hours of labor in changing turbos and manifolds.
heat soak wasn’t the real issue. I just pointed out that it was on the dyno all day when that pull was made. The real issue is that the truck makes that much power with that much timing. There...
Disclaimer: Please know that I wasn’t looking to point fingers or put down any products... I see where this thread has bounced around and I was bummed a little. AdmittedlyI was disappointed in the results but it doesn’t mean that this wouldn’t be a reasonable upgrade for some people, knowing up...
Yeah it’s not. This is someone fooling around. I don’t blame the poster who shared it. He just thought he found something cool.
even with E85 and stage 5 turbos and new fuel pumps, it falls short of those numbers.
Nice try though to the guy who wasted time faking a dyno graph.
I went to that thread you screen captured some folks over there are questioning the validity of that graph too. It’s also not even the whole graph. For all we know that could be anything that someone faked.
when I’m done I’ll post a real graph of a tune that pushes the limits of the turbos on...
That’s impressive. I’ve not seen any numbers anywhere close to that for stage 4 turbos. I have a build nearly finished and is street tuned and going on the rollers again next week. All of those parts, kooks, AMS tubes. Intercooler. Etc. etc.
I’m not expecting anywhere close to that much...
Ok.
this is great info. I too have the drain plug with the spar valve and the nipple. I could attach a piece of rubber hose to it and drain into a pan. I’m not worried about the oil filter as that’s always been the same moderate annoyance to reach up with my wrench to remove. It’s not the...
