The challenge will be to get enough people to make the costs reasonable.
If there is enough interest, we could likely make this work without having to modify the shock towers.
Hey everyone,
We currently have plenty of hardware in stock for the Gen 1 conversions! Shoot us a message to get your shocks shipped out ASAP.
Thanks
Doug
Hey Everyone,
Just an update. After 6 long months of being backed up we finally have the kits in stock again. I'm planning on uploading a photo gallery of our most recent production run this coming Friday.
All pre-order customers have been contacted and we will hopefully get all remaining...
I am assuming you are referring to making live valve take-offs work for a Gen 1 truck.
It currently only works for the 17-18 hardware. Live valve shocks have a smaller main piston (2 1/8 vs. 2 1/4) and would also require a unique base valve.
For the additional cost of trying to make a live...
I’m a bit new to video editing but let me see what we can come up with!
In the meantime, we’re still taking orders for conversion kits. Even though we’re still waiting on more material to come in, the $5 deposit will ensure you keep your place in line.
thanks
Doug
Unfortunately this is for just one. Still doing 20% off for Forum members so a conversion set for a pair of fronts will be just under $600.
I’ve gotten this question a few times so I will go back and update the website offering a pair with the correct pricing for a pair.
85Eurocarrera, if you have a minute PM me your phone number and we’ll make sure to make it right.
To everyone else, we apologize for the delay. We preordered material for 10 kits total and unfortunately sold out of the initial batch much faster than expected. We’ve since ordered more and it...
Hey Viper,
We appreciate the interest! Let us know if you have any questions when you're ready to get your 2014 set-up and going.
Regarding the F-150 question: This will fit the 2015-2020 F-150's if you also swap over the lower control arm to the raptor-style design.
Thanks
Doug
A couple guys wanted to see some photos of the shocks I’ve been running on my personal truck, so I pulled them off today from side-by-side with some standard Gen 2 hardware.
This set has taken a beating from several installs/removals but has been rock solid since we first built them up. Expect...
Unfortunately this is currently incompatible with the live valves. If there’s a lot of interest for those we could possibly look into doing a setup for that hardware.
Rear dimensions are ok and valving is actually pretty good right out of the box. We could make some changes on a case-by-case basis depending on what people are looking for but it will require some additional cost.
It is zero extra travel compared to a stock shock or a king/Fox/Icon 3.0. But it is over 2” of extra compression travel versus a standard Gen 2 OE 3.0 installed on the truck, which is extremely important.
Also consider that since it is a 3.0 versus a 2.5, you are making better use of the...
Hey Guys,
Just an update on our end - Thanks to everyone for the positive support! We've gotten a lot of interest on the kit but quite a few customers wanted an option where they could buy a complete setup without having to perform the retrofit themselves.
With that said, for a limited time...
Hey hobdog,
I don't know where you ended up on this build, but my company recently came out with a conversion kit that will enable Gen 2 shocks on a Gen 1 without having to weld on new coil buckets. Check out www.mikramfg.com if you're interested!
For the front strut kit, the listed price is per-shock. $354 is the list price per corner but we are doing 15% discount for forum members that also place a $5 pre-order.
Rear OE Gen 2 3.0’s would be a direct bolt-on. Front OE Gen 2 3.0’s would require our kit to be installed.
I checked today and fortunately the new price on the OE’s isn’t bad, around $400 per corner depending on the source if you wanted to go fully brand-new. If you need installation help let...
We spent a ton of time on the computer working with different part combinations to get the bypass locations right, get a mid-perch ride height location and get the right extended and compressed length to package into the G1’s. I think total we looked at 5 different potential combinations of...
This kit gives the Gen 2 3.0 the same compressed and extended length as the factory 2.5” shock. There are zero binding issues on our trucks that we have installed them on. With that said, if the CV is damaged from years of binding they may need to be replaced.
In terms of installation it would...
I was referring to doing an entire 3.0 Race Kit with matched front and rears. You’re right that the aftermarket fronts are Internal Bypass but when matched with rears it can get a little annoying. No doubt that the race-oriented 3.0 kits will perform better off-road though.
Since the OE 3.0...
This is just a modification to the leg of the Coilover and Outer Body primarily. Tried to minimize new components to reduce cost as much as possible.
Versus the KHC or RPG bucket relocation kit solution, you do not have to cut and re-weld the frame. You simply assemble the shock with these...
Hey Everyone,
I have a 2012 SCREW and like many I've been seriously disappointed with the Factory 2.5" shocks. Even with reputable rebuilds the shocks would lose oil after only ~20K miles or so. I seriously considered doing a set of 3.0's from King or Fox last year, but I daily the truck 80%...
