Yessiree...a lot of planning went into the garage build in anticipation of installting a lift in the future, which happened about 5 years later in 2011 (same year my raptor was built). At 68 I couldn't even think about doing such a project without it...
Great story and a nice score. Thoroughly enjoyed the read...I have a somewhat similar MO in that my posts are a bit long and detailed.
We have similar tastes as my gen juan is tuxedo black and stock as well, albeit is a 2011.
My story was a bit different in that I traded a 1999 Pontiac Firehawk...
Finally started rehab on my 2011 screw after going through cornea transplants for both eyes.
Still very light sensitive but I can work in the garage on the lift with the lights off on a sunny day all doors closed.
Rotors/calipers/pads replaced recently by previous owner on the front so a...
Update: Received the slip on rocker from LMC truck. It surely is not 22 gauge as it is quite rigid and will not bend without super human effort, so I'd guess it is, in fact, 19 gauge. Nice piece. Well worth the extra cost over the other vendors 22 gauge offerings.
Should provide a good...
LMC trucks response:
Not impressed that they don't know that the F150 and raptor cabs take the same sheet metal.
However, I'll reserve judgement until i receive my drivers side slip on...

RE: Slip on panel for 2011 f150 raptor

The far inner panel is solid. The middle panel has some rust/holes but has solid weldable surfaces and should be good enough to install the new slip ons after rust removal and a liberal application of rust preventative.
We shall see...
:happy160:
Agreed! Good points.
I've seen vids of these panels installed ad nauseum but I haven't seen any long term reliability results. :hmm:
My raptor will only be used for cruise nights, evening rides and the occasional jet ski outing (if my daughter will let me borrow one of hers) and won't be...
Not keen on putting plastic where metal should be...but if I had no welding skills and wasn't planning on keeping the old girl until I can't drive anymore and giving to a family member, then the plastic glue on panels would be an option. I would still want to remove as much as possible and...
Thanks for the confirmation dj.:happy107:
The correct shape is important for sure for a tight fit and minimal trimming. I am hopeful the LMC truck slip ons provide that.
During my reserach I found a few users that complained that mill supply and some ebay vendors sold tin-can thin slip ons. I...
I see you are looking at the full rocker/cab corner kit from Mill Supply. I believe they are closer to 19 gauge but not sure. Didn't research the full rockers..only the slip ons.
Good luck with your repair.
:happy160:
Great. Thanks for the confirmation Irregular F150.
Mill supply has a great rep, but their slip ons are only 22 gauge, which motivated my research. The screw is about $53 at Mill Supply. LMC is $99 but is 18-19 gauge (they couldn't give me a definite thickness :hmm: )

Greetings Raptor Faitful,
I am preparing to replace the rusted outer rocker panels on my 2011 screw. The middle and inner rockers are good so slip on's should suffice.
Many aftermarket panel companies only offer tin-can thin 22 gauge slip on covers. However, I found LMC truck has them in 19...
Just replaced my 2011's screws pass side cv axle and IWE actuator. We used this video
as a guide and it's spot on, EXCEPT- The old axle won't just pull out easily with or without a little help from a prybar since the vid is for a standard f150 (same generation). The difference is the...
It's been several months after purchasing my 2011 screw and I am finally recovered enough from various surgeries (thumb, eye cornea - both eyes) and with help of a younger, stronger mechanic friend, we got the raptor on the lift and swapped out the right front cv axle and 4wd actuator (IWE?)...
My gen1 bed is ok but a bed rug will make it purty again. Not installed yet but in the box waiting.
My Raptor will be a garage queen, used to haul RC helicopters and planes (the rug material makes it nice to velcro the models to it for transport) and occasionally attend a local cruise night.
An...
Lots of bugs going around this year so have fallen behind on the refurb, but the quality of the fit and finish is top-notch. A great value.
Good luck with your Raptor Project.

These look like a great option but I checked both amazon and the 3D site directly entering 2011 Ford F150:

Tried 2014 too... no joy...
Done!
The inner skin was dried out and cracking severely in several places. I knew it would just fall apart if I tried to reinstall it as is, so I used foil tape (I believe its used for ductwork and such) to reinforce the badly broken sections. I forgot to take pics of the panel reinstalled...
Agreed. :waytogo:
There are a lot of YT videos on the subject, some better than others. Saved me from wasting time on other possible causes. Broken wires in the harness due to flexing of the cables are the cause 95% of the time.

Troubleshoot rear driver's side door ajar message.
If it was just 1 or 2 wires broken I'd fix it but 4 is too many.
Replacement harness ordered. Arriving tomorrow.

Looking good!
I was just looking at trim restorers/protectants' reviews and Cerakote always came out on top.
My trim has been completely neglected by the previous owners (or the products they used didn't last). Definitely on my to-do list.
I look forward to hearing how it's holding up a few...
