Yup. Half power Tacos with gobs of suspension can easily destroy a stock Raptor in high speed offroad. Cant go fast when you gotta slow down for everything.
Ill say it all the time.... Ive never been offroad with my truck so far and said "I wish I had more power" but instead every single...
Its an update for some trucks that smooths out the transmission shifting. The only way for them to really see if it needs it is hook it up to the computer. There isnt a TSB about it.
Got my truck back and the rattle seems to be gone.
They replaced the front left strut (completely new shock assembly) and all new bushing on that side.
I also informed them of the IWE engagement issue and found the check valve was bad so they changed that out as well.
They tore that side...
Dealer just called me, they are putting a new shock up front to see if that does it. I highly doubt it will fix it. Its probably something as simple as the brake pads rattling around lol. We shall see.
The part number for the check valve is FL3Z-3A788-A
My truck goes into the dealer this Friday morning to see what the rattling is and to see if the check valve is messed up and allowing my IWEs engage.
And yes, you are correct, the front axles should never spin in 2wd. If they are...
If that does turn out to be the problem Ill pick up a few since they are $9 and a couple guys have already needed to change theirs more than once. Seems Ford still hasnt learned.
Learn something new everyday. Looks as though my IWE system is fucked. Jacked up the front end and both axles were moving when I spun the tires by hand when the truck was on. Put the truck into 4hi, went forward, backwards, put the truck back into 2HI and the axles stopped moving so the IWE...
I always thought your front axles will always spin no matter what youre in and all the 4hi/4lo magic happens inside the transfer case when things engage/disengage...
Hopefully I can get it to the dealer this week for them to see what they can do, I just like to start narrowing shit down before...
I have a metallic sounding rattle coming from the front drivers side of the truck. It happens when the suspension cycles quickly over small bumps and its progressively getting louder and worse. I ruled out the sway bar end links by disconnecting the sway bar, the brakes seem nice and tight...
I like it so far. If youre going down the highway and have the back window open you do get a little flapping noise but I rarely have the back window open on the highway so its not that big of a deal.
