Not replacing the chains and guides while they are in there is stupid. Ford is doing it as cheaply as possible, which is SOP.
The chains begin wearing from day one, which makes them longer- ie "stretched" (they don't actually stretch- steel is perfectly elastic).
The plastic guides, any...
Those were hero tanks he mentioned. All highway, nice weather etc. He's not averaging 16 overall.
He could have done better without cruise. Cruise control is terrible for MPGs compared to a human brain and foot. It'll jam the gas right as you are about to crest a hill to maintain speed...
They used that style of valve on the Maytag fridges, where the water drains from under the freezer during the frost-free cycles into the tray to evaporate.
The rubber ends up getting gummy after years and not opening like it should. It floods your freezer, which then floods your floor...
But what about muh million mile semi turbos?
All the Gen 2 turbo engine nut swingers assured me that the EB engine turbos last forever.
Hope so, since I have 2 of them now. One engine was just replaced by the dealer under warranty though- so not a good start for that one.
The term you are looking for is misfire- not backfire.
The typical way to find if it's a plug vs a coil is to move the supect coil to another cylinder to see if the misfire follows the coil being moved.
The guy painted the entire letter. Top and sides. The vinyl overlays do nothing for that.
If you can get a replacement grille for a reasonable price, do it. You can sell yours on Ebay, someone will buy it.
Keep the stock filter in the stock airbox if you plan to keep the truck. Especially where you live.
There's a reason semi engines run huge paper filters and cyclonic separators instead of K&N filters.
Be warned- it also has the "this-shit-goes-straight-to-your-liver-and-gives-you-cancer" chemicals in it. Probably benzene and tolulene.
You need to wear the proper respirator when using it, something rated for organic chemicals. You don't have to be paranoid about it, but get the right mask...
Check the PCV valve. I've heard them make *really* weird noises before.
The coupler might be worth checking too. Seems early on for that- but if you can pull the front cover off the blower off w/o lifting the blower from the manifold, I'd definately take a look. All it'll cost is a new batch...
If you run the out of the box tune- that is correct. The OEM fuel system can keep up.
Cooling could be significatly worse, or exaclty the same- depending on when, what and how. When during the year, what you are doing, and how you are dirving it.
The cooling system is not desinged for...
You don't know crap about vehicles if you are cool with taking a $12K L simply because the rear axles and seals were replaced on a used vehicle. That's a positive in my book. You know it has good axles, new bearings and new seals.
Runout =/ bent either.
It's a freeze up of the core. Park it and the ice melts off and its fine the next day.
I've had a Taurus that did it once, and a Cadilac that did it multiple times.
It always happened on long highway trips when it was really hot and humid. On the highway the system has a chance to get...
