Did I say he needed to replace them?
At 100K miles, putting those turbo back in front of a new engine is dumb- esepecially when it would have taken NO labor to put a brand new unit in place of the old worn ones. It was a missed opportunity. That's why I said "should have". It's too late now.
It's limited thought to automatically assume that if something is plugged into the 7 or 4 pin connector, that a ball mount is also installed in the receiver hitch and a trailer is attached to that ball mount.
Same as their issues with runnnig tailgate free- they aren't fully thinking through...
I sure the 2015 F150s carpet went higher up, but as time goes on they look for ways to trim costs.
It's called de-contenting. You liked that hood light? Gone. Nice pull out storage trays in the dahsboard- that is now a memory. Digital readouts on knobs, nah we can't get those anymore...
Should be able to track down what connectors are hooked to those components that threw codes. More than likely it's not one located in the cab.
I'd identify them, open any I could get to, check them for corrosion, blow them out with compressed air, then pack them chock full of dielectric grease.
It's a race truck!
Some guys drive evertyhing as fast as it'll go- and then modify it to go faster. You can't change that. Got a friend who has done it his whole life, he's still alive somehow.
I know a local guy who had the fastest drag boat in the world for years- that shit is just death...
IWE for dummies- IWE is "Integrated Wheel End", meaning the disconnect from the drivetrain is at the wheel. The 4WD is always trying to engage due to the design, but there is vacuum that keeps it from doing so. When you engage 4WD, the vacuum is released, the IWE meshes and 4WD happens...
Rotors get grooves in them due to either something hard geting stuck in the pad, usually a rock- or uneveness in the pad material hardness or the rotor itself. It shouldn't cause vibrations though.
Pads and rtors are realtively cheap though and if you are due, just swap them out. If it's at...
Going back depends on the length spring you are putting back and what perch you choose. Might need a compressor in some cases. Just swapping out shocks with stock springs should not require one.
Removal:
Yea, forgot to add- do not run slotted rotors if you do get the brakes done. That is just creating more vibrations. Had them, felt the vibes, would not run again. It's minor, but it's there. You can feel it under high-speed heavy braking. I have no desire to ever run a slotted rotor again...
Rumple and vibe at slow speeds with no brakes could be the tire tread. Did you get new tires?
I've noticed that before when going from an all season that most trucks come with, to an all terrain tire with some real tread on it. Right before you come to a stop there is a small rumble- and it's...
The oil leaks on the new Raptor are embarassing for Ford, but it's not a serious problem- long term at least. Oil lines, supports, connections and fittings can be revsied, pans can be redesigned etc. It's all external stuff having teething issues.
Yes, they say Soundscreen on them. It's accoustic glass, Carlite makes it. Rain makes a nice subdued plop noise instead of a sharp smack noise.
I have OEM glass in most of my Fords, and some PPG crap repalcement on another and I can easily tell the difference in the rain.
You could also say Ford didn't think their system through during developjment. Kind of like how a bunch of stuff stuff doesn't work without the tailgate installed.
This is not the first "extra rear light thing that plugs into the trailer harness for its signals and power source" to exist.
If...
The Raptor shall be referred to as a truck, not a car.
That bumper is horrible, I agree.
ADD and SVC both make nice looking bumpers, and there are expensive as hell. There are others who make them as well, that's just two off the top of my head.
Nice looking and cheap don't go together for...
What's the reasoning behind hooking it one way or the other? Obviously coming out of the hole is the reason, but why is one way better than the other?
Would having a spring clasp on the hook opening would make that a non-issue?
You can see in his picture that the clasp he has on his hook...
Just because some street tires from a particlar brand were no for you years ago has no bearing on wheter or not an AT tire they sell in 2023 is any good.
I love my Nitto Ridge Grapplers and would buy them again. However, the Nitto drag radials that were on a used set of wheels I bought were...
