IIRC maybe it was on here or on the FB page, but one person admitted they went to the smaller tires to save gas. May not of been one of the trucks posted.
I would say the big item is the tune, potentially setting up battles on if X, Y, or Z fails on the powertrain.
For suspension, the setup is pretty robust as is, so I would still think the extended warranty would be worth it for the electronics and engine/transmission.
Seen some people say the...
FWIW I went with FD-warranty on my past two fords.
May be the same cost as Flood.
Dealt with Troy twice so far.
I had them when I bought my SRT(past the 3-36 warranty) through my credit union.
AC failed 5k miles later and they covered the repair with no issues and paid for the loaner.
Then...
I would go for the one that's still in the 3yr-36k warranty phase.
Honestly, the plastic pan isn't that annoying. If it leaks, have ford fix it(warranty).
Well crap, this effects the non-H.O. 3.5L TT too?
Think my wifes expedition makes a quieter version of this here and there... Should it happen every time it cranks up?
Same. I was waiting for the TRX, but my assumption for the starting price and initial ADM would of pushed me out of my comfort range for a 1500 based truck.
And I agree about being skeptical regarding Ford putting in a V8 in the Raptor. Having no issues selling the current ones with a V6.
For...
Surprising outcome. Would of at least seen what was wrong with it, especially since OP was upside down on the initial offer for trade in.
Could of been a few grand fix or 13k.
Anywho, that was decided a year ago. One hell of a read for a let down finish lol.
I've been lucky when it comes to extended warranties.
Wifes Ecoboost 3.5L developed a oil leak between the head and block at 61k miles.
That ~2k warranty paid for itself there after the tear down and new parts.
Sold the truck shortly after and got the prorated refund from the remaining...
First thought is to swap it.
But...
Just seems that trade in is low. I've yet to see a fairly loaded Gen2 Supercab Raptor down here for that cheap, unless they plan to add 8k on top of your trade in to bump the sale price to ~50k. Typically see dealers add 3-5k on top of trade in.
Then...
My new to me 14 Screw gets 14.5(hand calc) mpg with a 80/20 hwy/city split.
and that's cruising at 80mph.
Still on KO's, but it blows away my first Raptor which got maybe 13.1 mpg.
DGAF about saving gas but found it curious.
I prefer trucks closer to stock when possible when dealing with engine work/mods.
Rather be the first to put the blower on the truck, so I know who tuned it, how aggressive the tune was etc...
That being said, you can find out real fast how well the truck was cared for. And that's what I look...
Same. Mainly on FB for that page and a few other car pages as most traditional forums have died in favor of FB.
It's a lot of fun. some guys push it hard, others take it easy etc... Very laid back runs for the most part.
I was last on here in~ 2017, didn't expect to see quite a few bad reviews on Rogue. Seemed like back then it was just the shitty powdercoating issues.
That's a shame, bought a few bumpers from them in the past with no real issues/missing parts.
Ocala National Forest. We used to have more discussions in the regional section of this forum but it died.
The meetups are now talked about on Facebook-Southeast Ford Raptor Owners page.
My avatar with my old Raptor is a quarry in the ONF. Wide trails, go at your own pace type of runs.
