If you're just driving around or doing sand dunes or easy trails, that might work. But in a real baja situation, that would NEVER work. You'd be leaving those out in the desert.
I've had 5 in my bed before, but that was unmounted, no wheels. I wouldn't want to baja with more than 2 or 3 mounted, and they would have to be VERY secure (chase rack).
