I run snow tires so I don’t bother w/ the “weather” mode unless I’m on some really bad twisty mountain roads, generally if snow is a few inches or hard pack everywhere I run 4H normal if it’s patchy snow/dry pavement I run 4A - I’ve noticed TC cuts in pretty quickly so sometimes better to take...
I had 801a 2018 w/ a La carte options & now a 800a (I think they did away w/ 800/801/802 that year no more cloth seat true strippy Raptors) & I prefer it this way. Not sure if still the same door handles on Gen3s, but the rough plastic handles look much better in many colors than the ones w/...
They do. I think they have it all 4 corners.
That being said….just like gen2 guys jumping on crappy perch collars initially only to find out within a year or 2 much better options. There will be stiffer aftermarket coil springs you’ll be able to swap out - I’m sure of it.
I think air bags...
Weird I have tune on 2020….tune or not it seems to hold steering wheel feel setting & will stay in 4a (or 4H/4L obvi) if that’s what I had it on (vs defaulting to 2h) BUT it won’t hold the drive mode, if I shut off in 4a weather mode + sport steering when I turn back on will be in 4a but in...
I don’t think this is the case at all. See my prior post. Ford has put a BOATLOAD of R&D into tt engines & the 3.5HO is the pinnacle of that to date. I much prefer the nature of the 3.5 vs the 5.0 when it comes to the standard F150, & I’ve always been a V8 guy. I feel like when it comes to V8s...
You wouldn’t need a 36 gallon tank w/ the power boost tho, would ya?
I actually thought that’s what this new Gen3 was coming with. I have a 2020, my 2nd Gen2, I came to Ford from mostly GM vehicles & one of the main things I liked about the Raptor (besides the obvious) was the nature of the 3.5...
Damn son how tall are you!?!?
Randomly saw this thread, just got dumped on in New England….was thinking, I need to break out this skis this year!
I have Meier QuickDraw’s 161cm
I have a rubber mat covering 2/3 of the bed (was actually a workout/treadmill pad but works good in truck) keeps...
I dunno man….my 2020 gen2 w/ 93 octane Gearhead tune def feels pretty fast. I would imagine it’s a mid/low 12 second 1/4 mile vehicle for sure, & obviously it hooks nicely. While I really don’t care too much about racing or straight line acceleration for the sake of it- if you wanna get a good...
I had esp on my 2018 Raptor…which got totaled @ 40k I never got a dime back for the extended warranty I never used & never had an issue in 40k miles, on my 2020 I now have 20k miles also trouble free. I would only consider getting it again if I had a lot of electronic options and/or the pano...
If you’re just gonna use em & swap em out every few years, yeah nothing to worry bout. But….the amount of corrosion that can occur from only a couple of winters w/ rock salt/brine embedded everywhere in every nook & cranny of your vehicle is pretty significant, let alone leaving it sitting next...
Amsoil HDMP once you get the truck new when it’s clean & dry for a few days give 2-3 coats all over (aside from shocks simply b/c it’s a semi-permanent product & will tint them yellow slightly)
That sounds very plausible, I’d imagine that’s a weak point, sometimes I feel like there’s some slop in the driveline at the yolk/pinion or that the clutch in TC isn’t engaging soon enough…..but all in all it seems consensus is these trannies are pretty stout. As you noted same in the Super Duty...
Did it give you a message in the DIC? Once or twice it has reminded me something to the effect of “don’t use throttle during 4x4 shift” not exactly those words but something like that. It was when I was accelerating probably more than 1/3 throttle & simultaneously putting it into 4a - I could...
Lol I noticed this too. I had a 2018 801a truck w/ a bunch of a la carte options, then it got wrecked & I got an 800a 2020 (I think that’s how it went they removed one of the option groups)
Anyhow, where my 2018 had full leather seats w/ 801a the 2020 added some cloth type inserts in the seat...
I’ve owned 2 Gen2s, the 2020 I have seems to have a better coating on frame/tow hooks thicker coat & more like a semi-gloss, the 2018 had a matte finish on frame/tow hooks similar to what’s on the exhaust tips.
The 2018 had zero rust when I got it, the 2020 had only a couple small spots around...
That’s a lot of miles guy!!! I’m at 20k on my 2020 bought new November of 2020 where are you driving!??
I’ve had a Gearhead 93 octane tune entire time myself, no issues
I thought it was fairly commonly accepted many of the Raptors come overfilled from
Factory hence why many get false alarm
From weeping @ front pinion area- both 2018 & my 2020 exhibit this
It shouldn’t be noticeable if the paint was properly treated prior to application. It’ll be more noticeable the trucks dirty. My wife’s ride is a 2019 MDX & we did a partial xpel ultimate wrap & the color difference is only apparent when dirty- I bet if you did a ceramic coat on top after the...
I have a set on my truck right now. Great tires for the winter, decent offroad too & barely noticeable increase in road noise
My guess is you’d have to do a flash to compensate for the different diameter so your odometer/speedo read accurately, other than that I would imagine the shocks may...
I’m just not that into it, it’s got an FE block & am not a huge Mopar guy….I prefer GMs V8s, I’d take a wrangler 392 over a TRX. I’d take a hellcat over a TRX….making the TRX what it is really pulls away from some of the normal attributes of a trucks advantages. At any rate- I also prefer the...
I used to live in some rough parts of Boston back in day, multiple radios & contents stolen like I’m talking @ least a dozen times between 3-4 different vehicles lol one time looked down from 3rd story window in a brownstone saw guys trying to break my drivers window in my GTO w/ a brick...
