No it’s not really that close. 8-10 is what most would consider “low” compression typical on any forced induction motor. High compression n/a performance motors are usually 11-12.5, higher on race fuel.
Crackles and burbles are related to fueling and timing, not compression.
Even the stock ibp shocks up front have a bump zone and rubber bump stops as well (as do the FRS). Once people really start pushing these trucks they typically go with secondary bypasses up front and if tuned correctly completely negate any need for a gas bump.

There are plenty of mustangs running around with 1000whp and 10r80s doing just fine. It’s the torque that you need to keep an eye on. The R does have an upgraded torque converter though.
According to Cobb it reduces pressure drop in the intake before the filter because it gets more air into the intake snorkel than the stock rubber shroud. Obviously in my pic with the airbox lid off that doesn’t really matter.
