So I may add to this thread. Was at a stop light and another raptor pulled up next to me- he asked where I can get the "r" badges (for his truck). I said call ford.
Took off- he probably got the idea after that.
It's modern day humans- just shake your head and move along.
On a different note.. I changed my oil for the 2nd time(first time at 800 miles, this time at 3,800 miles).. oil was BLACK. I believe this engine needs oil changing every 3k minimum. My eb raptor changed oil at 5k- oil you could still see thru it(just for reference).
The oil I use for the r is...
Agreed. The r is overhyped. I love it but it's slow(for me anyways). Sounds good though and is faster than majority of vehicles on the road. If I want a street race I'll grab the mclaren lol
That's why I can't wait for the new supercharger and tune to be ready.
I just made a road trip from maryland to Florida, drive around Florida for 2 weeks and drive back... wasn't bad at all. 3 fill ups total from maryland to Naples Florida. Average 75 mph.
Their already broken in from the factory.. before installing the predator engine in a vehicle- they run it in a dyno room, Anand take it to redline. It's broken in.
I examined a 24 with my ford tech friend and it had a blue filter on it.. which indicates a ford performance. There is the extra 20hp... tuning and software is exact of a 23 model. I say 20- crank hp... a 23 with a ford performance only filter upgrade yielded a 8.8 hp rwhp increase. Which would...
I will do this mod 100% to my r... but I'm waiting until the Tuning bugs are worked out. You will have issues I'm sure with tuning... the Tuning companies are delayed big time with the 23+ trucks, leads me to believe these things are tricky.
I don't have time at this point to go back and forth...
I had a 2017 r8.. one of the most dependable engines out there. I'd trust that v10 over any modern day ford engine. But agree apples and Oranges depending on vehicle... but any domestic vehicle with proper maintenance- 180k is nothing
I'd be disappointed... only 150k ish? If you only get that minimal amount of miles on a modern day vehicle- I'd deem it as junk.
All my transit vans have over 200k miles on them(3.5 ecos)... Zero issues and will continue to run them over 300k.
Problem is we live in a keep up with Jones...
