This is 100% true…back in high school I worked at a pizza place. A ding **** delivery driver’s Saturn SL2 had an engine failure at 35K miles because he didn’t know he had to change the oil. He bought it new. If you’re buying any 100K truck you need to know the complete history period.
I get that…good luck with the search. It’s a shame ADM is being so persistent, but that is the free market we live in. Awesome when it works in your favor, but it can be there to piss you off when you want something special too.
The gen 2 is definitely reliable assuming it’s been well maintained. If you find a good gen 2 with religious maintenance records id consider it. Test drive both!
For a 2014 with that mileage the price isn’t out of the ordinary, but it better be in tip top shape. It might be a touch high depending on your location. Id be more comfortable at 30-32 in my area at least.
The frame looks ok. 3 pictures is about 1/100 of the amount of pictures needed though. Nothing glaring in the pictures, but one could take a few pictures of a dumpster fire and make it look good.
What year is this gen 1? For that price I would only consider sight unseen if its a 2014.
So you go from can’t afford a raptor through its entire 14 years to wanting a Raptor R with an ADM possibly. You win the lottery? lol You could also just get a 23 35/37 for a grand or two off MSRP. It’ll still blow you away if you haven’t had one in the past for an easy breezy 79-85K. It’s a...
I wouldn't sell a 2012 with 65K miles either. It’s near or at the bottom of the curve and it’s still got plenty of life left in it. If raptor goes electric…you bet your ass it’ll go up.
Might as well hold on to it, you’re on the very slow part of the deprecation curve now especially if you’re not racking up miles.
The gen jauns could have a “old land cruiser” resurgence, but it’ll be a while. 10-15 years old is kinda rock bottom for enthusiast cars. I could see reasonable...
Yeah ill hand wash a car, usually to avoid breaking the deadly sins of sports car ownership. But Ill be damned if I’m going to spend hours on this truck all to end up with more water spots than I had before.
All of these trucks will continue to drop in value. Clean low mile 2014s seem to do the best especially considering they weren’t 80-100K new. Getting 30K trade in or whatever it is, is still a win in my book. You’re still getting more than half of the value of the truck back after owning for...
