So true, on the old 2002 F350 going from 25 to 65 psi took right about 35 minutes with an ARB compressor. Less than 5 minutes with CO2 (for all 4 , 1 at a time)
Never used compressor on Raptor, from 17 psi to 33ish psi is about 40 secs per pair of tires. (Home made set up doing 2 tires at a...
That would be true with the OEM shock with a rubber bushing, the race series are heim (can be seen in the 1st picture of post #5 or background of post #8) joint at both ends so it will rotate. The factory bushing is bonded to the inner and outer sleeves ( same with oem upper control arm) if you...
Came back the next day and installed the deaver springs, +4hd and RPG extended shackles. I had plans to do more but ran out of steam. The e-click doesn't come with printed instructions, they are online and with the front coils being MIA I just felt I would go home as study the instructions. I...
Front done with what I could I went home after 8ish hours (drove another truck home). I did remove the front sway bar. the Eclick will control roll it says and that bar is almost the same size as my 2002 PSD. It is huge, having off road that truck for 20 years I disconnected it most the time...
I did the drivers side first and it took me twice as long as the passengers side. Everything went smooth after and I appear to have clearance on the hoses between control arm and the spring.
So after figuring that out I checked the other front and it was the same. I use my Raptor for its intended purpose more than most and this is just part of the game. I called my Ford rep ASAP fearing that I would be told 6 month back order, but nope in stock will have Monday (tomorrow).
The next snag cost me $450 extra. So the Fox racing series live valve shocks do not come with new magnet coils / electric magnets (they are not solenoids), Well my caps are seized to the valve. The cap is plastic with a metal nut molded inside. at first I thought the plastic was spinning on...
First Snag was the tie rods shipped with right hand thread outer heim joints instead of left hand thread so I could not install those at this time. I will contact RPG tomorrow. luckily I ended up having clearance between the Alcon rotor and the outer tie rod end.
A couple months ago I took some ride height measurements per the service manual procedure. Factory specs are
front 5.945" +/- .5"
rear 9.5" +/- .5"
My measurements were
front 5"
rear 7 1/2"
Well here we go, after collecting parts for about 10 months here is how I started my weekend.
Sorry the truck is dirty, I had not had a chance to wash it since last run a few days prior. Headed to the shop is was 28 degrees in the morning so I was not stopping on the way.
I hit some snags...
The kibbetech only has one pinch bolt, (not necessarily a bad thing) other designs have 2. The ones I have seen with 2 have a warning saying "pinch bolt torque not to exceed 10 ft lbs. That is only 120 inch pounds. not much for a part that will see a ton of vibration. Kibbetch may have more...
When I first started looking at upper control arms I thought the on truck adjustment capability would be nice. But then I watched one of the EXO or other baja run videos on YouTube and they had a truck down, it had a billet control arm come apart, it was only in the frame for about 3 seconds...
You must be some sort of engineer, I think you are over thinking it a little. The factory doesn't use cam bolts, (on our lower control arms) i assume that is because they are not as strong. 1/2 the bolt is missing for the cam washer. the factory lower bolts are torqued to just under 300ftlbs...
