You hit it on the head. The Shelby name has a legacy but man, it has been taken into the realms of folklore.
The current Shelby offerings (not the Ford manufactured stuff) are created with a mix of parts from great suppliers that are actually "private label" or rebranded. This is good when the...
I have the Ford Performance skid plates. Not fun. Makes an oil change with the stock skids look great. My local dealer makes it a breeze; they use a form-a-funnel when the wheels are off (as part of the works package) for rotation and change the oil without any mess.
It only came out to be $65 plus shipping. Would consider using old lines impossible.l, so one they come off back order, you would be good to go. Crown cannot source the factory lines. Their customer service is awesome.
Did the axle shift to the right or left a little bit? Is one tire moved out on on side and in on the other? This usually happens with a panhard bar set up, hence adjustable panhard bar used when a vehicle is lowered/lifted to bring the axle back to center….
I’m a very happy customer. The SPV “system” just makes everything simple and clean. My back up lights and rear harness were a great foundation to build off of and everything looks like it was installed at the factory. The no drill bracket kit and RDS pro bar worked out great.
You could hit the Foutz full replacement guards with some black Steel-It paint. It’s good stuff and lays down flat like a powder coat. It also touches up great as well.
Team,
What are the part numbers for front and rear brake banjo bolt crush washers (GEN 2). I’m usually really good ant finding part numbers but I’m having no luck in finding these.
Thanks,
BT
No one really makes them because the rears would be costly to build. I’m sending brand new rear lines to crown so that they can build SS lines out of them.
Powder coat, no labels. Jeff have over at https://funktionperformance.com/ did this for me. He is the owner operator and does all of the custom colors for https://alconkits.com/.
Calipers were stripped down and completely refinished to OEM quality or better brake finish (read: long lasting and...
Not a lot of people know about Driven Racing oil (has not belonged to Gibbs for many years). It’s a totally different approach and I’ve been lucky enough to meet and talk with Lake Speed Jr. a bunch over the last decade. mPAO is really the best performing base oil that does not use tons of...
Heim joints can work but they require regular maintenance. It’s as simple as good lubrication and replacement of the rod ends every other year or so (maybe longer). I feel it’s worth the trade off for the performance and, ironically, durability (in hard off roading).
This is the best write up for these Roush/Alcon kits. Thank you for this. I have the same kit (kind of) and purchased the Alcon Rod ends. I also purchased Crown Brake lines as well. I had my Calipers refinished to remove the Roush Branding with an Alcon logo in Leadfoot with a Fox Shocks orange...
But you need more aluminum to have the same strength, right? I’m thinking of the application vs just the materials if that makes sense? I would (and have) get the Alcon brackets. The juice is not worth the squeeze. If you got the Roush/Alcon kit from EBay, you are so much money ahead, even...
This,
That is the driver for all of this mass. Durability in the craziest of scenarios. Comparing these brakes to the offerings from Brembo in Willwood is not an apple to apples comparison. The team that designed these brakes design for really heavy armored SUV/Truck applications where using...
