As the title suggests, I have a 2018 Raptor, and my wife recently got a '19 Expedition Ltd/Stealth pkg. Obviously, the trucks are similar in a lot of ways, but there are a few differences that I found surprising.
First, her Exp automatically goes in 4a when you shift into Sport mode. The...
Anyone else have this issue? My seats return to my memory preset once the car is on, etc., but they seem to "stop short" by an inch or so. I will adjust and re-set the preset, but it keeps doing it.
The latter is what was recommended in addition to lysol the outer/intake vents on a decent youtube video I saw...turn off AC and run system fan on high with recirc off for the last mile or two. Seems to help.
You shouldn't need the crossover in a B&O, maybe with the Sony. In the B&O, the tweeters come directly off the amp with their own sognal, not split/crossed over with the mid-bass 6x9 in the door.
This is true, but the bias is more pronounced in the B&O than it was with the Sony and in many other Ford/factory systems. The rear speaker placement so low in the door doesn't help, either.
Yes, the B&O system sends very little signal to the rears...they are basically fill and set up that way. I switched my rear speakers for some 6.5 JBLs before I knew this, and would not do it over again...just not enough sent back there by the B&O.
Yet another reason why I wish Ford just left us ONE FREAKING AUX input so that you are not limited to USB only via Sync, which can't even handle an iPod with a lot of music, let alone a high-end media player. For now, I'm afraid BT is your best bet.
I haven't seen anything specifically for the '19s yet, but the 10sp in the Raptor appears very much to be a work in progress. May not be a bad idea to get a reflash at next service anyway.
The same day/evening I drove my wife's new Expedition to try and see how differently it handled the wet...it was much more planted/did not spin at all like the KO2s did. Yes, I know there is more weight in the back, and her Hankooks are brand new/a different tread, but the KO2s have noticeably...
I just had this discussion with the local Ford dealer. Their service has to run the gamut from a '98 Fiesta to a Ford GT, and there is no real distinction for the customer. They really need a concierge-type service for the higher-end vehicles. I'm pretty sure come Lincoln dealers now have it...
Just going to say again how bad the BFGs are in the wet after wear gets down to the harder compound. My truck seems like its on ice skates, and I'm not even dogging it. Yesterday I literally fishtailed making a left on a wet road under modest acceleration. It is absurd and dangerous.
If they can’t reverse it (which I find hard to believe), tell them you want a replacement unit...they messed it up, they need to replace it. That is ridiculous.
Note that you, like many others, swapped a 4ohm replacement in for an 8ohm in the center...that is going to make that center, now with a separate tweeter, play even louder. You describe it as "vibrant", but try it without the center and I bet it will sound better and definitely image better...
I had the reflash done on my '18 a few months back due to the hard 4-5 shift in Sport mode. The reflash seemed to address, or at least change that issue, but now I get the low-speed lurch at times on the first drive. Mine tends to do it after I've remote started when leaving work for lunch or...
Yes, and with the Sony, you may want to consider the center...the Sony system actually has a Sony speaker up there, and it's an 8ohm speaker. I think it pushes even more "false center" sound than the B&O does, and many folks made it worse by replacing it with a standard 4ohm speaker. I would...
With the B&O, it is definitely a waste to do the rears, if you're doing speakers only. I replaced mine early on before Dom and some others were here to be as helpful, and the B&O just doesn't send enough signal back there to make it worthwhile. Put good components in the front, leave the center...
As I have said many times before, if I had it to do over, I would have put components in instead of tweeters and 3way 6x9s in the door. At the time I did it, folks weren't sure on the B&O if a full range signal was going to the doors, so I figured I'd get a bass upgrade and maybe some more...
Just a warning as I have now had two incidents where obstacles that came in from the corner of he rear bumper as I was turning a bit were not picked up on/warned about by rear back-up assist sensors. The fish-eye effect of the camera can also make picking up on the types of items tricky when...
