problem is, he knows nothing about installing car audio gear....so his entry price just jumped $1,000
in todays money...you can build a nice system and replace it all, installing yourself for $2,500ish.....$3,500 if you have to pay a shop.
If you are not willing to spend $2,500-$3,500 you are...
Don't waste your time or money. The problem is not the speakers. Replacing them will not fix your problem. There is no answer you WANT to hear.
Main issue is the amp in the Sony / B&O systems is TRASH. 12 watts per channel max. The speakers sound like crap because the amp starts clipping at...
All good. Thought we were dealing with B&O examples.
In your situation. LC2i is your only choice unless you replace ford radio
The ZEN A2B would have been the holy grail of interface back in my days when I worked in the industry. Getting a digital unchanged signal from the factory headinit...
not a fan of the LC2i. It is still hampered by the bass roll of. And it has to fake the sound and restore it. It is a band aid. The only correct way to do it is with the ZEN A2B.
been talked about too death..... in order to save warranty claims for blown speakers......as you turn the volume up say past 15, the bass gets turned down. contrary to what people think.....it is not too much power that blows speakers...but too little power.
the factory SONY / B&O amp is only...
yeah...plugs out makes it easier to spin the engine and valves as needed and not fight compression. all the pictures and videos I have seen have them removed.
Service advisor was cool...owned up to his mistake as he handed it written down, but didn't put it on the WO. He said labor was only 1.25 hrs for plugs, so he ate it.
Got the truck back. 36 mile drive home was all good. Inspection of engine bay looks good. Just need to monitor it.

no....
They have to remove the spark plugs to do the cam phasers.....when they take those out....I just want them to put new ones back in @ 48,ooo miles. I should not have to pay labor to put new ones in vs putting the old ones back in.
Mother F'er
So they started on my truck....didnt call me to tell me what they were doing.....
This is an issue because I told the service guy I wanted new spark plugs since they had the entire top of the motor torn apart....
guy calls me to tell me the truck is done....
I ask about the spark...
I don't know if I should be pissed or what....but I made my appointment 4 full weeks out. dropped my truck off 1 day before my appointment......and it has now sat untouched for 7 days at the dealer.
GPS shows it at the back of their lot, and my ford app shows no start since last Wednesday.
I...
will hit 50k miles this winter. my truck is a street rat, been off road 2 or 3x with nothing too extreme. No leaks in my shocks and the ride is still great.
Do I just keep with the factory build until I notice a change in ride or visual shock leakage?
it goes in next Thursday for the cam phaser (6 week appointment wait). The CEL went off after 5 normal starts.
Not sure if I should tell them about it, or let them do the cam phasers and see if they discover it when they put it back together.
