OEM says start at 5 qts, my pan holds 1.75 more. Start there. I know mine is about 7.25 with a drain and fill so I start at 7.

Enough that the fluid level will be completely wrong. If you set the level at 20 degrees below spec it will be overfilled enough to vent...
