Thanks guys. I actually have a platinum, but was regestered on this site since I was torn between the Raptor and the platinum at the time. Didn't mean to stir up trouble.
No. I miss the 8' bed from my F350 but don't carry enough cargo to bother with the worse ride quality. I was just curious if it was a drop in replacement.
Way off topic, but that house in the background had one hell of a ****** plumber. I counted 12 holes thru the roof for vents, and probably only 2 were needed. Maybe only one if anyone had given a shit doing the job. /rant off
There is no need to have massive lights anymore with the advent of LED technology. It is slow coming, but LED lights will replace almost every other lighting source and do it better, cheaper, more reliable, and last longer than the vehicle that they are placed into duty.
After a bit of research, a King Ranch can hit 5700 pounds so the Raptor isn't all that crazy, it's just surprising. Four off road tires can add 200 pounds easy, and then we are getting to little stuff.
I'm still going to get a 2014 Raptor. It's such a nice mix of all things good about a...
Hi,
I'm curious why the listed weight for a raptor (6100ish) is 1100 pounds more than a regular F-150. I realize some of that is from the bigger tires, but I'm wondering what else is responsible.
Or is it that a fully loaded king ranch super-crew 4x4 would be much closer to the raptor's...
Hi,
I emailed MT about those wheels and below is the reply from them. So, what size MT classic lock wheels WILL fit a 2013 Raptor? I like the looks a lot, and I like that the weight is quite a bit less than stock. Sorry for bumping a 5 month old thread, but damn those wheels look sweet...
Awesome! Similarly equipped crew 150's are all about 50-55K with all the goodies (before discounts), so it will largely come down to ride quality and vanity. That raptor is a sweet looking machine... Probably the best looking factory truck I've ever seen.
Dan
I read most of the article. So I'll loose 50-75ish HP. No biggie. My current truck doesn't like -20 days very much. It's too much truck and is too stiff to be much fun anymore. It's got 180K miles on it and a few people have told me they can go 300K+, but it's time for heated seats and an...
Maybe I've been over thinking it. Modern fuel injected engines are a far cry from the carburetors I grew up with. My current toy is a lifted 96 F350 7.3 PSD crew with 37" tires and it's getting hard for my wife to climb in. The raptor is a much better engineered lift than I have currently and...
Hi guys,
I live at 9000' elevation and most of my driving is between 5000' and 10,000' (Colorado Rockies). How much HP am I going to loose vs. sea level? I really like the looks of the raptor and have a few miles of washboard dirt roads to contend with daily.
I tow a 7000 pound trailer...
