Do you think it would be ok to remove the bracket?

Just below the bottom edge of the tailgate and just above the bumper on the right side there is a black bracket held in place to two bolts. What is the purpose of the bracket. I was hoping to remove it to add a tailgate LED light. Thoughts?

2 guestions Has anyone found a vinyl inlay for the Gen 2 Raptor badge on the right side of the tailgate. Has anyone added a badge on on the front door panels like the Gen 1 6.2L badge. I feel like there needs to be a badge there. Thoughts.
