I decided to go with the Ford Racing Rear Lowering Kit to level out the truck. I chose these over the aftermarket ones since the kit included pinion shims to correct the angle. The specs say it is supposed to drop a 4WD by 1.5 inches but it ended up being about 1.75 inches. Now the truck sits pretty much level.

These new shackles do not look very robust and I would not recommend going airborne or high-speed off-roading with them. I would have given more consideration to going mid-perch to get leveled out but did not want to void the warranty.

Here are some pics. The first is stock and the second is with the new shackles. I like the leveled look over the stinkbug look.

For me the factory stance is beneficial when you are towing something. Most likely the hitch weight will level things a bit for you.

Sweet, another thread to confuse the **** out of my check book.

So if I get some springs that raise it, then run a drop shackle to even it back out, I still created a problem by losing up travel?

as someone who would only load a motorcycle in the bed, no towing, no off roading, just highway. How would just adding shackles?

The reason is I want to be able to load the bike in easier.
