ISSUE:
Some 2009-2010 F-150, 2009-2011 Expedition, Navigator, E-Series, Escape Hybrid, Mariner Hybrid, 2010-2011 Fusion Hybrid, Milan Hybrid, 2011 MKZ Hybrid and F-Super Duty 250/350 equipped with a 6.2L enigne and built on or before 11/1/2010, may exhibit a running rough concern, hard start after refueling, audible clicking noise under the hood and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0316, P144A, P1450, P017X, P044X, P045X.

This is a tsb (technical service bulletin, not to be confused with a recall!) to replace the Canister Purge Valve thats located on the left hand side of the intake manifold. Its part of the EVAP system. Mines been clicking loudly non stop at random times for a month or so. I will replace it when I get a chance, so figured I would give people a heads up.

Where exactly is the purge canister located? Mine is ticking away. How much does one of these go for?

---------- Post added at 09:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:50 AM ----------

Found a post from SOCO describing where it is:

The canister purge valve tick is the most common culprit and can occur at anytime. A way to check for the canister purge valve tick is to check right behind the throttle body, there will be a connector that plugs in form the driver side, you will actually feel the ticking through that connector while it's happening.....most of the time, the ticking will stop if you just wiggle the connector a bit. I've yet to hear that tick anymore since having mine replaced.

Interesting, my truck has exhibited some rough idling occasionally since day one but no codes and everyone claiming everything is fine. So mayb I'll change this out and see if it helps.

They finished mine up today and I will pick it up after work. The service writer mentioned that 11-1-5 had been superseded. I will try and find out what the new number is.

I took mine in a month ago about this and they said that its normal. I even told them that there was a TSB about it and they blew it off.
