So all of a sudden, I am having MAJOR issues having my phone stay connected. Here is what happens, more or less...

I get in truck and the NAV bitch says that my phone is connected. I'll go to make a call, and it's not. Both phone and SYNC say it is. I'll power off the BT on the phone and it will say "disconnected", yet my NAV screen will still have the small blue BT oval signifying that it's connected. I'll power on the BT from the phone and then...

I'll tap the phone button on the wheel and it will say connecting. It will never connect. I'll tap the button three times and then the icon on the NAV screen will turn off. I'll then have to re-power off the BT from the phone and then power it back on and then hit the button on the wheel and it will successfully pair to the truck.

I've tried just about everything I can think of. Is anyone else having issues?

I've not updated SYNC nor my phone. The only thing I've done recently to either is I put music on my phone and everytime I get in the truck, music starts playing from the phone.

I'm gonna try taking the music off and seeing if that helps.

Anyone?

So the music works and the phone doesn't?

If you click phone- settings

Does it show your phone as connected?

If so click it- go to advanced and then restore default settings might help.

Nah, nothing related to phone --> SYNC works until I do the process above. I think I am just going to blow away all the settings and start over.

Just curious, what kind of phone is it?

I've been in Brochacho's 2011 Rap several times and his SYNC/Bluetooth and his iPhone don't get along very well. The dealer already "fixed" it once, but he's still having issues. I'm pretty sure it's not his phone either, because we tried streaming from my iPad to his Nav unit on a lake trip and it also didn't work, whereas the same process from the same iPad works fine in my Rap.

I have the HTC Thunderbolt. This problem literally just started about 3 days ago. It was like my truck was pissed off that I didn't drive it over the weekend and began this crap.

I hate SYNC. It is nothing more than another ****** product from Microsoft. I didn't put it in my Boss 302 because I despise it so much. I bet SYNC works great with a Windows phone :devilfinger: but still needs to be rebooted daily.

I have the same exact problem described in the first post. It has driven me nuts for the last six weeks. I never had this problem on my 2010 while using the same exact phone. There has to be a bug in the sync. Wish it worked like it is supposed to. I would say mine works 35% of the time. Let me know if you discover a fix from the dealer. I also have the IPhone. But as I said before, it worked perfectly with the sync in my 2010 never an issue!

I've never had an issue before a few days ago. SYNC in this 2011 truck had always been flawless for me. I had more issues with my 2010 than this new truck. I'll let you know what happens, though. I do not plan on taking it to the dealer, however, for this problem. They always manage to **** up more than they fix.

Does the phone ever work at all?

When you say "taking the music off"...I would not bother removing music from the phone. Won't have any effect on the Bluetooth pairing.

With the phone and truck seemingly communicating, on the phone try going to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth settings. See if under "SYNC" it says "Connected to phone and media audio". I have a few bluetooth headsets I use for music in various applications that I've deliberately changed to be "media audio" only...wonder if the same has happened to your truck accidentally.

I'd try unpairing them from both ends (delete Phone on truck and delete truck on phone) and then repair.

Only issue I've seen is that I had a few disconnects with my Droid2, so far no issues with Droid3 (and/or also since update of SYNC, forget what I did first).

Yeah, the phone works perfectly all the time, after the above steps. I have an idea of what might be happening and will test this theory in a few minutes when I get back in the truck. I'll post up with the results.
