Red Desert Meet-Up
August 8th and 9th
Lodging: Comfort Inn & Suites (Riverton, WY): 1-307-856-8900
Cost: $92 + 9% tax for a double queen room
$102 + 9% tax for a double queen suite
$112 + 9% tax for a king jacuzzi suite
Arrival: Friday, August 7th.
Just call them and mention Red Desert Raptor Run (our group name) to get the special rate. Rooms must be
reserved by July 17th but I would recommend getting them sooner than that just to be sure. They were
totally booked at this time last year. Please let me know if there are any issues or questions.

Tentative Schedule:
Saturday 8/8
0900 meet at Comfort Inn and head out
1030 enter into the Red Desert
1300-1430 picnic lunch and brief stop at Killpecker Dunes (we've found this are not Raptor friendly
except along the edges).
1500-1530 Potential Run Pic - Boars Tusk
1600-1700 Farson Mercantile for food/dessert
1700 Depart Farson
1830 arrive back at hotel
Sunday 8/9 (Route and details may change! Updated 6/7)
0900 Meet at hotel and do some more Raptoring
0930 hit Hudson-Atlantic City Road
1200 Pass through Atlantic City
1230 Arrive South Pass City (Picnic lunch - bring your own supplies)
1230-1400 picnic lunch at South Pass City /Tour mining town (option)
1400-1500 Carissa Mine Tour (already set up)
1500-1700 Three Forks/Atlantic City Rd East to Bison Basin and then north to the Sweetwater River and pavement again.
1800 Arrive back at hotel in Riverton
Most of the roads will be dirt or gravel and without rain they can be hard and fast. With rain, it could be interesting (we will stick to the main roads if there is any hint of rain).
Requirements (may be tweaked yet):
Raptor (Limit of 5 trucks)
Radio (snowman frequencies 151.82, 151.88, 151.94 )
At least 1 spare tire and a tire repair kit
5 gallons of extra fuel
Tow/Recovery rope
(2) D-rings/shackles
Positive Attitude
Recommended Gear:
Off Highway GPS – Garmin, Lowrance, etc.
Floor Jack with wood blocks
Shovel
Fire extinguisher (Contact WSI for mounting solutions)
Auxiliary lighting
First aid kit
Bug repellent
Camera / Go-pro
Trail snacks/food / drinks (plenty of water)
Hoping to have at least one truck with a winch and between us, extra parts and hopefully a couple
mechanic types.
