So due to the Texas Raptor run coming up I was needing some help with securing all the stuff I will plan on having with me in the truck. Need a place for the tow straps, tires, and fire extinguisher. So I decided to build something cheap and fast to do the job. It will mostly be used for stuff like a run but you use it for other things like maybe camping. Made out of 1" square tubing 14 ga and the 2 3/8" round tubing that's schedule 40.

I welding on 3/4" washers to the round pipe and welded the square tubing to that to start making the cage. I haven't completely finished the cage obviously from the pics but you start to get an Idea of what its going to look like.

The cage will hold a bigger cooler or something like that for anything you want. Then on each side of that a tire will fit up right tied to the cage. I haven't mounted the upper loop to the rest of the cage due to space in the garage for now. Also, D-rings will be added to it to strap the tires and cooler down. The fire extinguisher will be attached to the back of the cooler cage between the two tires.

I've been wanting to build something like this as well. Something I can put on and take off easily.
Can't wait to see it all complete.

Thanks for the complements. I am building one for my truck and one for the roommates truck. Should have them both finished next week and will have tires to put on the rack so you can see the complete look.
