Gsteve: As most FRF members know, I specialize in Bak's covers and try to know as much as anybody who works at the Factory. I have personally sold in excess of 1,000 RollX's. While there are issues from time to time, I guarantee you that had the RollX been blowing off of any trucks, I would have heard about it. With all due respect I would love to speak with any one of your 3 friends who have had a RollX blow off of their truck. I will personally handle any or all of their cases...if they really exist. My belief is that you are just trying to have some fun on April Fools Day, or you are just a fool period.:ROFLJest:

Nope .. my buddy had his blow off , it was installed my the ford dealership. And the other two are not personal friends but were installed by by a shop here called Cap-It. They told me they were holding off on rollX sales til they could figure out what happened. This was all here in regina sask.

We had a extremely windy day here a while ago.. all three are from that same day,

Love my Roll-x but the right rear latch pops loose on moderate bumps. Adjusting it makes no difference. Any ideas?

I was sold on the RollX and at the last minute had some hesitation. Went with the FiberMax and glad I did.

I left the guard I made previously in place so I have 3 levels of security protection.

1. Rely on the guards for those times when you are in a place that doesn't require more security.
2. Secure both tie downs on each side when you want the extra level of peace of mind. It really isn't that difficult, just push down slightly and hook it then twist to tighten, done.
3. When you want ultimate security, perfect when parked in a lot overnight. Careful though because you have to open the tailgate then push down slight and unhook. I have the DeeZee tailgate assist so that helps hold the tailgate. I made it so it easily clips away from both ends so it can be tucked away and not interfere with loading stuff. I probably won't use level 3 very often but like the idea that I can do this if need be.

I absolutely love it!!!

Unfortunately, it appears that all Bak covers can be opened easily with a coat hanger. There are a number of videos online that illustrate this with various models, including the Bakflip. I have been hoping that someone would come up with an easy fix for this, as I have been considering the new Roll-X. Along with the Bakbox, it fits my needs quite well.
Perhaps Bak can engineer some type of safety switch that locks the release cable in place so it cannot be pulled until the switch is disengaged.

If the thieves are getting to the cables and releasing the latches holding the cover to the track, it would seem, as a simple redesign, to just move the release cables further back. Although it may be more inconvenient to use, I'm sure most people would like the extra security and have to reach a few inches more to get to the cable.

If the thieves are getting to the latches, I would just make them either beefier, or stiffer. If a thief takes longer to get into someone's stuff, then there is more chance of him getting caught. Or if its too much of a pain the the butt, they may just simply give up.

What do you guys think?
