Has any one ever tried these WET Kole waterproof seat covers to protect the leather on our seats?

found out about it from: Pirate4x4

seems like it would be nice in the winter or rain... :birgits_tiredcoffee

At the same time - a truck is meant to be used: camping, fishing, winter driving, 'wheeling, hauling, and of course lots of tow-duty - in my case moving the family on four wheeling adventures. Add the kids eating and drinking (and spilling) in the back on long trips and your spanking new interior can easily become a disaster in short order.
from the site:

Our Solid Two-Color car seat covers bottom and back are bonded to half inch thick foam for added comfort and protection. Our boxing neoprene is laminated with nylon on both sides, making it twice as strong. No rubber touches your seat material which is especially important with leather or vinyl seats. We offer color combinations to match our car seat covers to virtually all car interiors. These seat covers are easy to install and use high quality quick connect fasteners and Velcro.

Front seat covers can be easily installed without removing you seats, and fit Ford F150 like a glove.
We use only the best quality CR 100% neoprene. Our Ford F150 Standard Color Seat Covers are designed with separate covers for head rests and arm rests.

I had them for my 2010 FJ Cruiser but it had cloth seats. I've avoided them for my Raptor because I've heard too many anecdotal stories about the neoprene preventing the leather from breathing which causes the leather to break down.

Neoprene Seat Covers......

I'd research the hell out of this before doing it if I were you.

I've had them on my Explorer for years and love them. Excellent build quality, they have panels for the airbags and I've had absolutely no quality issues at all.

Living in SoCal and surfing/swimming everyday, they were perfect. the colors have held up good over the years and I'm only now starting to see a bit of color fade after almost ten years.

I've had them off a couple times and never noticed anything negative with the leather seats underneath but not saying it couldn't happen, it just hasn't been my experience.

It's a personal decision but when you're speaking about specifically the WET Kole covers, they're great in my opinion. More than likely won't be getting them on the raptor since I'm getting the heated/cooled seats.

I had a set for several years on my other Truck. When I removed them for trade in, the seats looked brand new like they had never been sat in. They fit like a glove and had no adverse effect on the leather. Wet Okoles are the best as far as seat covers go.

On the raptor, Im not going with covers. I will just get them recovered if they wear out. I like the look and feel of the leather now. One other thing about the Wet Okoles, they are a bit warm in the summer being neoprene.

I've had wet okoles in my '85 F-150 since 2003, they've held up great. Just shampooed the seats and carpets last week after the truck had been sitting for months, getting it back to DD condition, and they cleaned right up as well.

I think I'm going to enjoy the leather seats for once with the Raptor, and especially since they're heated/cooled. On both my HD trucks I've always driven around with a black towel on the seat bottom. It has made a HUGE difference as my seats still look nearly brand new and are both 11 years old in each truck, usually the leather seat bottoms in HD trucks don't hold up that well, but the towel made a difference. I may just order 1 drivers seat bottom cover for the Raptor, store it away, and if/when I eventually sell 8-10 years down the road swap it in if it needs it lol. The seat backs and passenger seats don't take nearly the beating of the drivers seat over the years.

It's not always a matter of saving the seats. I personally put them on my explorer because I was getting in them after having been in the ocean everyday and I liked that I could just jump in with no additional thought about being wet. That and I liked how they looked / felt.

Some people do care about saving their seats for resale or whatever.. /shrug. Some people also put plastic covers on their furniture at home too.. it's not my bag but hey, if that's their thing, let them have at it.
