In our experience, the shorty headers will not gain much torque down low. Typically they will pick up HP & TQ towards upper RPM. The long tube design is what brings the extra torque that will make the front end lift upon acceleration. Our customers with the SuperCrew really need the long tube to get the truck moving from a dead stop or when towing.
The appeal of the shorty header is typically price and installation.
I can vouch for the long tubes. love them even before the tuner I thought the tuner was in. The tuner put it all together when finally put on wow what a difference. I need to get in touch with you Jason and get the cat delete pip coming. First for exhaust note will that change it and also power any advantage or not significant. ether way I think it will make it louder. wonder how big a pane to switch it out and back if too loud.
Stainless Works is still interested in producing shorty headers for the Raptor and we are in the process of acquiring more interest. Right now we have a handful of customers but we need more.
