2017 Raptor Demand Issues

The dealer I got my Raptor from had some interesting info. Well it's nothing new on the raptor ofcourse but they did have some order info and it makes me glad I went with the gen 1 model.
Apparently they have 4 customers "confirmed" for them but they are only planning to get one or two. They are expecting to get two of them since they are a high volume dealer, but just getting one is a very real possibility. I just think it's strange that ford would keep the supply so low when demand is so high?!?!?
Btw they are also planning to get well over MSRP for each one.
Thoughts?

Ford has said anyone who wants one will be able to get one as they are no longer a limited run production vehicle like the Gen 1 was if I remember correctly...

That dealer is full of shit! they don't have a clue yet as to how many allotments they will have and how many they are planning to make... Just saying'


A little history on how I came to purchase my rig...

My LOCAL dealer told me when in April of 2010 that Ford will NEVER produce a SuperCrew because that would be an "atrocity". I'm out of my mind to think that. I told them that Ford had PUBLICY annouced the SuperCrew earlier in the week. I was told that I'm stupid and don't have a clue as to what I was talking about.

I then proceeded to buy a ticket and fly 1342 miles away to El Paso TX to find the exact SuperCrew that I wanted and bought it (Thanx to Randy).

I drove it home and pulled right into the local dealership and found that MORON that I spoke with earlier that year and told him to quit his job and walk across the street to McDonalds where it doesn't matter if you're stupid or not to work there... Got back in my rig and left...

Well this makes a lot more sense than what I was being told. It just didn't add up, I'm guessing each truck must pull a good profit.

Who is your source? The GM or buyer or a sales guy who is only selling cars because he can't find another job? Enthusiasts like us are more informed than most who work at dealerships. Your source is wrong.

My dealer doesn't know anything and said I probably have more info from the Internet than they do, and that's the owner. He's probably going off the allocation numbers from before. Allocation is different than a customer order. Ford will probably limit the allocation, but there won't be a production limit. They will build as many as they receive orders for. All you have to do is go place an order, then sit back and wait.

I spoke to my source recently and according to him, the Raptor is still an allotment truck and no one at Ford has told him differently. My source is a high volume dealer. They sell about 30+ Raptors a year. A few members on this forum have purchased from him. For those who know me, you know who I am talking about. This dealer already has 19 guys on the waiting list and I am #1 for the 2017.

Until one can walk into a dealership and order a Raptor without an allotment, then I call BS on this statement >> Ford has said anyone who wants one will be able to get one as they are no longer a limited run production vehicle like the Gen 1

True or not true, we will all find out soon enough.

Your source must have a Secret Decoder Ring -

No ring. Just common sense. If Ford has not announced going away from the allotment system then we must assume the status-quo. Rumors are just rumors. If Ford does indeed abandon the allotment system, then this dealer would sell several hundred Raptors as they only do invoice.

I think dealers are full of $hit lately. They recently told my brother a new bronco will be out for 2017/2018.
