Chad and I ran Afton Canyon today. The trails were in excellent condition, the scenery beautiful (Afton Canyon is "The Grand Canyon of California") and the weather was the best - sunny and mild. FYI: This route took about 4 hours including multiple stops and a lunch break.
We met at the Rasor Road Shell gas station and we drove out Rasor Road taking that to Mojave Road (these are trails not roads) and we followed that along the Mojave River (wash) down to Harvard Road where we got back onto the 15 freeway.
We met up with four guys in a white Raptor and an FJ Cruiser from San Diego. They were finishing up their 3 day drive of the Mojave Road from Laughlin, NV to Barstow, CA.
