Portable winch mount build

I have been looking for a way to mount my winch on the front of my truck. I really liked Ironmans winch setup but it was not easily removable. So I kind of stole from the parts in his picture to see what happens. So far have made the trip to the metal yard here. Bought 3/8 plate and 3X5 inch square tube had a couple pieces 1X2 laying around so I am commited to about 70.00 in parts. My son is a welder or at least has a welder so how much damage could we do. So we are at the mock it up stage also the drop it on your foot stage cuss over busted knuckles and notice it gets really cold as the sun goes down stage. Today we did not set anything on fire and did not need stitches so I would say ita a win. I have attached a couple pictures of what we have so far.

Any ideas (constructive) would be great...

I am in commiefornia so were suppose to have a plate also. I looked at the wicked performance reciver hitch I wasnt sure it was strong enough, how do you like it so far? And it was 399 shipped to my address so at 70 dollars in so far I am ahead on money. We will see what I run in to today.... lol....

I love it!!! If I keep my system I will make a front receiver also... Since I no longer need the front receiver to move trailers and things (like I had on first Rap) I was thinking of making mine just behind the grill so I would need to lift the hood, stick winch in and plug it up.

End of day two.... No fires no stitches

End of day 2 no fires and nobody went to the hospital so again ita a win.
Finished the assembly and welding had to make a modification to the truck I was not happy with but in the end it looked good so I am not complaining, parts off to powder coating and and everything fits well. It will be bqck tomorrow and back in the truck for the final fit...

Great job!
I was thinking of this as well but I didn't want to hall the winch in the back all the time.
Keep those pics coming, I love to see what people have done cause it also gives me ideas.
